My name is Mick. I live around south west Sydney.
Thanks for a fantastic forum. I've been viewing it for a couple of months and finally got my car home although still unregoed.
92 Eunos Roadster 228k's. A little frayed around the edges but it cleaned up ok. Have known the cars previous two owners and purchased for a modest price.
I just replaced the suspension with the Kings/Koni combo I picked up from a forum member (Thanks mate).
My question is should I go through the hassle of keeping the original springs or are they cheap/obtainable enough to throw the lot in the bin?

Put them in the parts for free section and give them away, if you ever need them again for any reason (you shouldn't), car karma will sort you out.

Thanks for replies.
"Keep it why" = I did read somewhere the kings springs can be a bit harsh and Konis with original springs work well. So just thought that combo might suit if I find the kings to harsh. I'm more than happy to pitch them into the bin and save myself a bit of work getting them separated from the original shocks. Show me convinced right now.

Nice car. Welcome to ownership.
What does your bottom tell you ? Are they too harsh ? Are you looking for more comfort/less NVH ? or performance.
I'd keep them. You won't get much for them and they do work well, last forever and any quality OEM spec. shock will work with them.

To be honest I didn't get much drive with the OEM springs. The shocks were well gone so an assessment wouldn't have been accurate anyway. I thought to keep the springs but really I was allowing laziness to overcome the effort to wind down each spring and separate them from the shocks if they're dime a dozen items. Tomorrow I'll just do it and store them away in case. I'm really looking to improve it at budget price. Thus the second hand Koni/king installation. Had to be better than the tired original equipment. I have the shocks on the softest setting just so I can gain knowledge of the feel and I'll progressively harden over a period of months. I'd prefer to do that rather than set it to others recommendations straight up, chiefly to learn and understand the consequences of different settings. I have noticed the rear bottom out on a couple of occasions but I'm more interested in the best handling I can get rather than ride. Obviously there's many considerations to take into account including tyres/road surface but I'll be mostly public roading it till I learn more and budgets allow further education.
