I'm really liking the look of them now.
Does it have a telescopic steering column?

Are you kidding...I can barely reach the steering wheel now....haha

I am finding new things every day that weren't on my ND. The reversing camera has settings now....you can adjust brightness, contrast, etc.

The lane departure and rear warnings are great. I love all the gadgets in the car....fantastic!

I'd like the steering wheel closer, not further away. To get my perfect position relative to the steering wheel means I'm slightly closer to the pedals that I'd like to be and my knees are brushing the bottom of the dashboard. If I could get the steering wheel 3-4cm closer, it'd be a lot better. I'm 180cm BTW.

Have you tried reclining the seat a little less?

Then the backrest is uncomfortably upright. My point is that it should be adjustable for reach. The driving position in my BRZ was perfect. The driving position isn't "perfect" for me in the MX5. It's a slight compromise.

Had the same beef when we had an NC

I hate those little black plastic spoilers on the front of the ND and RF, so today, I got the front spoiler from the appearance pack, colour coded and fitted to my new RF.

It looks great and hopefully, I won't need to keep getting those stupid little spoilers replaced all the time.

Just so long as you now don't have to keep getting one big and far more expensive spoiler replaced all the time instead. :) Because, if anything, it looks even more vulnerable.

Mazda MX-5 was the 5th best selling "Sports Car under $80,000" in 2016, behind Ford Mustang – 6208 (up from 121 of 2015), Hyundai Veloster – 2232 (down from 2685), BMW 2 Series Coupe/Convertible – 2159 (up from 1902), and Toyota 86 – 2068 (down from 3006).

ND 1577 (2016) has sold better than all previous MX-5 generations in their first full calendar year: NA 1446 (1990), NB 1310 (1998), NC 1468 (2006). The arrival of the RF should boost sales into 2017 too.

The Veloster isn't a sports car. The Mustang is a muscle car. The BMW 2 series is a nice car, I nearly bought one, but it's not really a sports car either.

For my money there are only 2 real sports cars on that list for a reasonable price i.e. affordable list excluding hot hatches- the 86/BRZ and the ND. Anyone notice the Mustang earned a poor 2 star ANCAP rating- its the image of course.

Agree. I don't really think of hot hatches as sports cars. Don't get me wrong, I've owned a few of them and I love them. My RS Megane was probably the best handling and fastest point to point car I've ever owned...and on a tight 2nd gear road, probably the quickest car I've ever dríven on that sort of road (I'm including 911s and Caymans in that statement)...but it's a hot hatch, not a sports car. Likewise, the Mustang is a muscle car...and the 370Z is a Japanese take on a muscle car.

FCAI manage the segmentation categories used for new car sales. They define "Sports" as "Car, coupe, convertible or roadster".

Gee the Mazda sales people are pretty casual looking and no Mazda socks either.
