The beanie is an epman brand, just the cheapo- I had intended to replace it a while ago. Its still going and doing what its ment to 20,000 or so k's on, but I'll be giving the engine bay a big cleanup soon and want to pretty it up a bit. its been off and on a few times, so some of the fiber is looking dusty and brittle. Looking at either an areoflow or most likely a Golebys.

Ok, so now I have my turbo clocked some more and the IC pipe lines up perfectly.
The only draw back is that it's closer to the coolant hose. Still has some clearance but I would have preferred a bit more.
Ah modified cars, there's always a compromise.

I've tightened the clamps as much as they will go and basically hung off it to test.

Turbo beanie is also on.
At $36 including post, I don't expect that it will last long but wanted it for some reassurance.
I do think that it cleans things up a little but as long as my bonnet doesn't melt

Relax mate, the bonnet will only melt enough to provide sufficient cooling air flow, it's self regulating that way! :mrgreen:

I cut a hole in the beanie and feed it through. Flap still works fine with the beanie in place.

Yep. Hope to get registered later in the week. Still need 2 fittings welded in behind the air filter but I'm hoping I can get that done Wednesday or Thursday.

Also needs a new alterator belt, soft top fitted, grill refitted and a better hose from the ICV to the TBI.

Today I modded my grille to alloy the IC piping to run through it and fitted it up, made up a new hose for the ICV/TBI and removed my alterator belt ready to replace once I get a new one.

Am considering painting the front of my intercooler black with white sharks teeth for laughs.

Dann's catch can comes with AN fittings for all the hoses.
There was also a 90 degree male to male 6AN fitting.

I was sure that this was to be able to plumb a hose from the catch can directly after the air filter but there was no female fitting supplied which confused me a little.

Rather than bother Dann or over think it I purchased one off eBay.

Today I will be drilling holes in my 3 inch stainless joiner so that I can fit the 6 orb fitting and the 25mm fitting for the BOV.

I'm a day behind as there was a stuff up with the fittings so now hoping to get rego on saturday.

Since I'll be visiting my welder today or tomorrow I also thought best I dodgy up a heat shield so he can do that and the fittings in one go.

Have a go at my heatshield.
I'm dubbing it the mad max shield.

She might not look pretty and yes I did beat the sh*t out of my stock shield.

2 layers of Steele with fiberglass in between. Once welded, ground and painted black, she will look good enough for me.

I'm pretty sure that's meant to replace the PCV on the intake side of the cam cover. (The PCV is no longer required with the way the Dann-can is plumbed)
That's where it's used with my setup with the prototype catch-can. :wink:
