How much did you pay for your ND?
Hi Guys,
First post on the forum and a potential MX-5 owner. I've waited over a year and I think it will be time to pull trigger on the purchase of an ND shortly. Like the title says I'm curious to ask anyone who is willing to share, how much they paid for their ND MX-5. With a lot of the 2016 Compliance Plate sales going around at the moment I was hoping of getting a 2.0L GT manual for around $37-$38 drive away. However someone on this forum shared a brochure which said that the 2017 MX-5 will come as standard with BSM and RCTA so I may wait for that to be available instead.
Waiting for a 2017 I figure will likely drive up the price, but it I think those are two features that would be handy in a car like the ND.
One think I would like to fit/add at the dealer is a backup camera at the very least, which according to Mazda's website is an approx $500 accessory. I should also probably add that I live in Perth.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my post and I appreciate any feedback!

Re: How much did you pay for your ND?
Hi Martini,
A Barebones GT you might squeeze in at $37 if you finance and they claim the GST for you (might be slightly better). But add some paint, a few things here and there, and you'll be approaching the $40 mark very quickly. Remember it's a $44,XXX car RRP, so its basically $40k to start with, then you need to eat into their margin somewhat, which they're willing to do, but more so on cars that are already costing them floor space and time.

To answer the question. $41,000 on road in Victoria for a red 2.0 GT manual. Ordered in December 2016, to be built in February and delivered in March 2017
Will have the stronger gearbox internals from September, and hopefully the roof problems should be sorted by now.
Rumor has it that cross traffic and blind spot monitoring will be included as well as the fancy LED headlights that turn corners.
And if you are a North Melbourne member there is an extra year warranty.

Got to remember that you then have to pay the GST on top of your monthly payments and most similar leases are at relatively high interest rates.

Ah, well my understanding is you wouldn't because they would purchase the car without GST, and your repayments would be to them, not the vehicle. Anyway, not financial advice just one perspective, which I believe is possible but I didn't execute myself.

You pay the GST through your monthly payments. If you have concrete evidence to the contrary, let us know.

Re: How much did you pay for your ND?
I just ordered a 2017 ND 2.0 L GT manual roadster with reversing camera, good quality tint and mx-5 floor mats for $40k, delivery in May, so if there are any new bits (fancy LED headlights etc) they should be on it.

Re: How much did you pay for your ND?
Collecting my 2.0 GT manual next week.
Paid $39,000 with matts, rear sensors, scuff plates and pedals.
Wasn't aware Mazda could chuck in a extra years warranty..... would of love that.

Base model 1.5 was $32k RRP plus on roads, while base model 2.0 was just under 20% more RRP plus on roads: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=69556
