Hi All
New guy actively posting on the board, about to start a project that I though might be of interest upgrading the electrical componenets in my SP to support modern capabilities (while retaining the stock look and feel of a 2002)
I will document the process here http://mx5-21st-century-upgrade.blogspot.com.au
Ideas, comments, corrections all welcome
Chucky

Re: NB SP electrical RestoMod project
Someone here recently installed a Mazda gps/radio thing.
Loved the idea. A few have done the nexus 7 install which is what I will proceed with . Well it's on the list.
I'll see if I can find it since I can't sleep.
And welcome. Don't be shy about posting it here for reference as well.

Re: NB SP electrical RestoMod project
Hey Stan
Same problem, no sleep after i get the idea to document,
I thought about a Nexus 7 install for at NA but ended up installing a double din from the nb, with a mp3 player cutout showing through the multi-function bay face plate.
This is one of the big challenges for me, keeping the stock look and feel of the dash while adding at least GPS,
Would be interested in others who have installed a Nexus though.

Nice work dude. When i read your post, i immediately thought of a bluetooth mp3 addition via the cd changer port, as this is what i did on my SE. This combined with a android phone mounted with a phone holder in my cd player slot pretty much ticks all your objectives.
Looks like youre taking this a step further with the mirror, keen to hear how it goes.
