Hi, really want to do this for my car, has anyone done it themselves, what did you use, and is there any places in Melbourne you've gone to that you'd recommend?
Especially keen given my experience with my RX-8 which had stone rash, I'm not sure if it was me, but if it was then that paint was super thin, because there's no event that I remember when it happened, if it wasn't then I guess I didn't inspect the car properly. But this is virtually the only way I know of to avoid stone chips and still drive the car, when it's raining, or on a road that has stones on it (even tarmac/bitchumen) without the risk of damaging the paint.
It's the rule of large numbers still, everyone will get that one stone no matter how careful you are, but at least with this stuff it'll likely have the impact absorved quite a bit by the plastic/vinyl/film whatever, and certainly won't damage the paint, most importantly.

Re: Clear Vinyl Wrap Protection
Never tried a clear vinyl wrap but have had some of my cars wrapped (at least part of them). I have used CarX in Clayton for this work and very happy both with the quality of their work and their prices.

I don't think many people would attempt to do their own tinting and same goes for invisible clear protectors. Get a quote.
