After reccomendations on my na6

Postby MKZee » Sun Jan 15, 2017 4:14 pm

So, i might aswell introduce myself first, im MKZee or Nate, i drive an 89 eunos roadster and have for about a year.

Anyway im chasing any reccomendations on what to improve visually on my car as i want it to be a bit more asthetically pleasing (im pretty happy with it now, but would like to improve on that) im after cheap somewhat easy mods.

Thanks in advance
MKZee

The garage section gives you all sorts of pointers to what looks "aesthetic " and also what looks to some as bad taste. Bear in mind perhaps, aesthetic means pleasing or tasteful so "out there " mods don't necessarily achieve that.

How long is a piece of string,

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

By the looks of it. Stance & suspension geometry is where I would start.

Agree, modifications are personal and it is more important if you like the end result.

What is your budget? End result, for example stance, hard parking, dyno, drag, track or daily

Have a look through these threads, they should give you a good idea of the styles & mods that others are doing.

Meaty tyre thread
Track style thread
Moderately slammed thread
Vintage/Retro thread
Vintage/Retro thread 2

If you can tell us which style you like or post some pics modded 5s that you like, we'll be able to give you more direction.

I do like this one but a little more height, as I like going over speed bumps

I am a big fan of this one, apart from the front bumper and obviously there wouldnt be a point in me going widebody due to wheels not being wide enough but I do like the styling

Have a look at Hoodkeeper's build.

The top one has a Garage Vary (style?) front lip, Feed style side splitter and tinted lights.
The bottom one has Jass performance TSIs, the bumper is Garage Hundred One with a bunch of holes cut into it, the flares are Autokonexion I think, mirrors look like universal items and the side skirt looks like a mazdaspeed copy from this angle.
The wheels on both are XXR 527, most likely 15x8+0.

Most of this stuff can be bought from the forum sponsors or found pretty easily. GHO won't sell their products to anyone outside of Japan (That one would of come of a car imported to the UK), and Autokonexion has had a pretty bad reputation of late, so if you decide to look at flares, start with Carbon Miata & Rev 9. MX5 specific mirrors are fairly expensive, universal F1 or bullet style mirrors can be found cheap but you may still need to DIY you own mounting solution. Same with the TSIs, there are a few DIY tutorials around though if you are up for a weekend project.

If it was up to me; slightly lower, add some spacers, get the GV lip and feed splitters + a ducktail spoiler, some smaller, less bulbous aftermarket mirrors, and a few splashes of contrasting colour i.e. yellow tow strap & tire lettering. All to make something like THIS

I'm diggin the blue two tone. Definitely my fave one on here. Get a good set of tyres, and look to repair any perishables :)
