Broken 3rd brake light
Hi All,
My 3rd brake light housing is broken.
How can I replace this?
Any particular parts ? Aftermarket options?
Recommendations where to buy such parts?
Any tips for doing this job myself?
Kindest regards,
Kristian

Hey Kris
Good to see you still have the NC mate, park a bit too close to a golf course aye>?
a few options:
- Replace the unit - it comes as an assembly, you may have to paint match it, or paint black - PM Boyracer as he is wrecking a few NC's currently
- IL Motorsport make a chrome cover that goes over the light assy - that could be another option for you.
From memory its just 2 or 3 nuts to loosen and a elec plug on the underside of the light assy, should be able to check it out if you pop up that panel slightly before the roof starts to retract into the cavity.

Re: Broken 3rd brake light
Hey Guys!
Thankyou so much for the help and quick responses as usual.
Good to hear you are well Regie - I miss the NSW mx5 scene
Boyracer thanks for checking out soft top vs hard top. Ill send you a PM or please send me a $ cost etc
Also, wondering if anyone has taken the 3rd brake light off all together? Does this mean you are left with a hole in the panel that needs filling? Weight reduction benefits.....
I think i'd rather put a fixed one on rather than covering with chrome..... but then the black is not a colour match!
Cheers,
kris

Re: Broken 3rd brake light
It will not be legal without the middle light ( HMSL) and it can also make the difference between the guy driving into the back of you with his cool twin cab or just giving you a fright with 2 tonnes of ugliness stopping just in time. They proved long ago the value of HMSL as a safety item.
