Tomei headers for NC

Postby SS11 » Sun Jan 01, 2017 12:59 pm

Has anyone had experience with Tomei headers for NC MX5?
Been looking at options and was planning on GWR headers as these seem to be the go to choice, but stumbled onto Tomei and considering going this way instead..
also considering the possibility of midpipe and rear muffler upgrade, but later on once the funds allow...

Specifically interested in thoughts re o2 and cat sensor locations as the Tomei provide bungs in the headers for these (although one in first runner and 2nd by flange)
Seem that these are priced a bit better through amazon and possibly less mucking around with exhaust shops to fit bungs in midpipe, but with some risk of the unknown as it seems everyone goes down gwr path...

Not real patient, and once I get a idea I struggle to find my hold button.... googled the buggery out of Tomei and could only find good comments, including from Brian Goodwin on his website and forum.. based on this and that Tomei is a Japanese company making parts for Japanese cars (both car and company RHD) and that the headers and compatable to bolt up to OEM mid pipe, I took a gamble... if I was more patient I likely would have waited till feb when mx5 parts have shipment of Goodwin, but I am not blessed...

Ordered on Amazon and they arrived today, $620 delivered to door....
They look great, with fantastic welds and I believe and hope o2 sensors go in positions they have provided with bungs in place.. time will tell if I brought a expensive wall hanging or a great set of headers, plan to find out time weekend...

Keen to hear your thoughts. Will you be at Sandown on 21st for the MX5 Fan Day?
