Does any one else have a recommended supplier?

That sucks about Blackbird. I think they're a small operation, but aren't they all? I should think Paypal wouldn't be too hard, but I'm sure you've been pursuing the options.

Anyway, have you looked at 949 Racing? They have poly mounts, comp rubber mounts and hybrid options. I've ordered from them a few times and had no issues, they provide prompt customer support via email for any questions.

And Garagestar also sell poly mounts, I think the AWR ones. I haven't had any interactions with them though.

How much movement are you talking about? I can find out what engine/diff mounts are in mine.

This video shows the gear stick movement in mine

OK that is a lot more than what I experience, however I will look at what it is like launching in first as this is not something I normally do.

Maybe this is the solution, however not if still a daily -

John Pham has an engine damper installed on his, maybe worth a chat to see if it work http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/18-engine-transmission/48979-jumbos-engine-damper-thread.html, or there is a harder type brace (similar to Madjack's) http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-0226.html

Miata Roadster make a Shifter Tip Bush for the 6 speed which defines the shift gate. I have used these and think they are brilliant. Pt No MR-SS-13.Cost $15 US.A friend also bought one for his race car and swears by it.
Cheers

I've now got Supermiata competition engine mounts and Energy Suspension diff mounts- very stiff now, and no shifter movement to speak of. I have not dríven it on track yet though

I've completely fixed my 6-speed woes by replacing it with a 5-speed close ratio dogbox... this will definitely solve all my synchro grinding problems but may introduce a whole stack of new issues!

As for the 6-speed, I think the miss shifts are definitely solved or at least significantly reduced by running solid mounts on everything, or as solid as you dare to go. With the synchro grinding, I really don't think there are many options other than spending more time between shifts and not slamming through the gears.

I know your problem as I had it too. I also have a short shifter fitted (Miataroadster).
A new set of stiffer rubber engine mounts fixed the problem. The shifting improved a lot and isn't an issue now.
Getting reverse ever time didn't improve though.

I got the mounts for a very reasonable price from one of the site's sponsors (MX5 Mania). A hell of a lot cheaper than Mr Mazda's SE rubber engine mounts.
Next time the diff needs work I'll fit the stiffer rubber mounts I got at the same time as the engine mounts too.

The mounts can be a pain to fit without removing the exhaust manifold and if your engine hasn't been out before (like mine).
You'll need to cut a slot between the 2 holes where the mount bolts down on to the chassis on the left hand side. I punched through a couple more holes and used a demrel to finish off making the slot.
Once I cut out a slot, the engine dropped straight in. There was no way it was going to drop back in without the slot.
Check the right side and you'll see what I mean; it's slotted from the factory.

Yes, it was a pain. I cut my hands up wrestling with the passenger side before I worked out how to extract it.
