Finally, I've got it in the workshop & have started the strip down. Realistically I won't get much done until into the new year, but I just want to get it to the point of no return. I've pretty much decided to do a full colour change, so everything is coming out. I will most likely only get as far as bootlid, seats & door trims today but for me that is the point of no return.
Merry Christmas Everyone.

How wild of a colour change are we talking here?

Not sure yet. But I'm pulling the engine & box anyway so may as well paint the bay too. I just hate doing half a job. But I was admiring an NA online, overseas somewhere. Chocolate Brown.

^That one is actually quite nice and could make mission brown fashionable again.

An image search for Root Beer Metallic turns up some fantastic options.
She's no MX5 but what a colour.

Merc do something similar as a factory colour:

There's one just round the corner from me, it's a stunning colour when it catches the sunshine. Almost copper coloured when you can see all the metallic.

The family has all gone home so I've made a little more progress, but I'm on night shift now for a few days so it stops again.
But I managed to get the front bar & the fenders off today. I'm very happy with the overall condition underneath too.
Not many leaves n crap under the guards. There is some pre-existing damage under each silk that I'll have to repair, & it looks like possibly some rust repair done by the previous owner but it looks & sounds solid, & I've owned the car for 5 or 6 years so I won't worry about that.
