RF GT looks terrific in the brochure - its bound to find customers . Interesting about the weight- manual 1080 kg auto 1106 kg.

When I was in at the Dealers the other day I picked up their "Ignition" magazine and was looking at the pictures of the RF.
I kinda wonder about the product justification for the "fastback" concept that requires that complex mechanism and a big lump of metal fastback that moves around.
I thought the NC nailed it with the folding HT, even if it did require a special 'bulge' on the rear deck to accommodate it.
The NC was a much more svelte style and it looked OK, surely they could have accommodated something similar in the ND if they'd wanted to.
I guess it was the fastback look they were aiming for - maybe to differentiate it more from the convertible.

Nice upgrade for 2017 models
Also noticed that all models now includes body-coloured door trim!

I still wanted to see them make the Colour Pallet a little more bold for 2017.

Having a look at the new 3 today and they have released a new blue called Eternal Blue Mica. It's still not as stand out as the Dynamic Blue on the 2's & CX3/5's but it's a step in the right direction. It would of been nice to see them drop the Blue Reflex and pick up Eternal or Dynamic for the MX.

Eternal Blue is a bit older fuddy duddy colour. Probably would have appealed to the older NC buyers.

Dynamic Blue on the other hand is modern, although probably a reboot from the 90s. And better suited to the younger gen MAzda are aiming the MX5 at nowadays. Vote yes for Dynamic Blue.

For those lovers of the Soul Red, there's also an update to it, as well.
It's another process in the manufacture and it looks even better than Soul Red, if that's possible. It's been released on the New Gen CX-5 at the last Auto Show in the states.

Mazda are talking about bringing it out in the CX range, but no word about it's inclusion for the MX-5 yet.

My RF is supposed to be delivered, (Hopefully) on January 5.....ooh, can't wait!

Classic Red from the NA may be making a return. Mazda have a couple of tweaked cars heading along to the Tokyo Auto Salon in January.

Hope so!Fancy having a sports car range without a proper red!! Liked the NC red but the NA is even better.

As always beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I love the look of the car but that interior colour doesn't do it for me.The black one at FF had it and it looked terrible IMHO.Over the years they have come up with some pretty ordinary colours and interior combinations.Charcoal grey, black or tan would all look good.

You must be excited Frank and I know you will love it and get great pleasure from it.

I agree, that interior really doesn't work with soul red.

Not sure if you guys had noticed but Mazda Australia has done another stealth update to their MX-5 webpage for the RF.
There's nothing new for people pre-ordering, but I suppose it means that late-comers will be more reliably informed before committing to trim etc.
