Thanks for the anonymous advice!
Background, used to have a ute to carry my dirtbike. Pretty much the only time I used it as I either cycle or train or motorbike to work.
Sold the ute and didnt have a car for nearly 12 months. I have access to one if I need one. Didnt miss it as I hate driving in Sydney and we only have on street parking which is tight at best.Recently sold dirtbike due to back injury
One day my wife says " I think you should get a car" as I'm on call from time to time and have to drive out to work ( 25km from home) and a quick response is often required.
My kids are pretty big so I could get whatever car I wanted ( cost notwithstanding). So , as I'd never had a little convertible, I bought a 2004 MX5 SE.
I love driving the car but it would only get used once a fortnight or less. I hate the fact that it sits out on the street with its' coat on, doing nothing other than depreciating and costing me money in rego etc.
My wife thinks I just want another project ( I do buy and sell cars and bikes with monotonous regularity), but I just dont use it.
So, sell or keep?
What Io dont want to end up doing is selling it, regretting it and buying another! To be honest, I rarely drive it and driving in Sydney ( even in an MX5), isnt really what you'd call fun.
I dont use my car and I dont know what to do!!

Ever drive it just for fun? Go spend a day in the hills, push it to redline. Sports cars aren't much good if you only drive them for commuting duties. If you don't use it for fun occasionally, then sell.
If you're looking for something as a project maybe sell the SE and get an NA that you can club register to reduce rego costs. Then you can mod it some as a project, and enjoy some fun spirited drives occasionally. It'll costs much less, and give you a lot of fun.

I dont have time to drive it for fun! It's been on a trip up and down the old pac hwy ( near Sydney) and that's it. Mostly all it gets is a run to drop off kids or drive to work if I finish late.
I love the car, but seems a bit extravagant to keep for the occasional blat. If I have some free time, I'll take the bike for a run.
Looks like a wash, and some photos are in order.....

^^^^^ What they said!
However club rego in QLD is for vehicles that are at least 30 years old. https://www.qld.gov.au/transport/registration/concession/cheaper/#special

Given above, there's no advantage to keeping it. Unless this is going to change, probably best to sell it.

Unless I am reading this wrong, you got the car because you are sometimes on call.
Has that changed? If not then you still need a car, the MX5 is a nice little car, you said street parking only which can be difficult, again a nice "little" car, easy to park.
If you still need a car, it will be an expensive exercise to sell this one, buy another and then discover it's even less what you want.

Re: I dont use my car and I dont know what to do!!
To be honest, I have at least one other vehicle ( other than my motorbike) to drive to work in in an emergency. I bought the MX5 ( after being car less for a year) as my wife suggested it- and she NEVER suggests any vehicular purchase). Plus I love 'projects'.
Unless it's pouring with rain, I'll always take the bike. Unfortunately its in my DNA to buy and sell on a whim, as hard as I try to stop it I cant!
If I needed another car, I would probably buy something that holds more than two people as there is five in my family, although the 3 kids are all pretty much grown up.
I thought I'd become a real(MX5) enthusiast ( car club, track days etc) , but it hasn't panned out that way due to time constraints as much as anything else.
