Any car with factory fitted fog lights uses low wattage globes.
Driving around with your fog lights on only attracts attention & distracts other drivers when the globes in your fog lights are replaced with driving light globes. I see it dozens of times a week, young blokes defected or warned by the cops & having to replace their fog light globes because they had 100 watt globes fitted. My daily is a Barina RS with fog lights always on with or without headlights. I'm usually driving on tree lined country roads & if another car is coming towards me it's a closing speed of at least 200kph, I like to be seen & I'd like it if I could always see the other car coming towards me. Quite often, especially in winter when conditions aren't very good at dawn or dusk, there's someone in a dark grey car coming towards me with no lights on. It happens too often & grey cars blend into the road so well. Park lights are useless as a means of being seen while driving, they are a 5 watt globe. In less than ideal conditions if you are driving toward someone with their park lights on you can't judge how far away they are. A car 300m away with park lights on looks like a car 3km away with it's headlights on.
At least 3 times a week I pass cop cars coming the other way, usually highway patrol & have never had an issue with having fog lights on.

Another issue with the use of foglights when not required is that on many modern vehicles it also activates the rear foglights.

These are as bright as brake lights and very irritating to following drivers..... :?

I steel myself for a barrage of responses.
But, very good feedback all.around. It answered my question.

the post from Darren is mostly right - I fully back a concern about visibility esp in sports cars with low profile. However factory fitted fog lamps dont use low wattage bulbs - the standard is usually 55W which is the same as most low beam headlamps. The bulb used in fog lamps is often identical to driving lamp bulbs. The regs in Vic and probably other States is dont use fog lamps on clear days. LED drl is the right product for proven increased safety. There really is not a sound argument for daytime visibility that supports use of anything except drls.
PS I agree that rear fog lamps are an absolute pain to drivers - unless of course it is really pea soup fog.

55W aren't low wattage.

I haven't been pulled over, but in an RBT I was told off for having them on.
In my defence it had been raining the last time I drove, which is why they were still on.

Which is why I wired a warning light into my instrument cluster to let me know when the fog lights are on.
(I utilised the unused rear foglight indicator so it even looks factory!)

That is not a standard feature like on other cars? MY old 97 Astina had a light on the dash for when the fogs were on.

See the image below.....

You will need a bulb holder & a T5 globe.
Wire from fog light switch (comes in from the left in the image) plug the holder straight into the vacant socket on the back of the cluster.
Simples!

Where are you located? I have a couple of spare bulb holders, you can have one if you like.
Otherwise, can be sourced very cheaply on eBay.
