I've never run anything other than the Advans, but from seeing other cars up there at least 1 second, maybe a bit more.

As part of my quest to lighten my car I've removed some more bits from the nose. There are a couple of plates that hold the black bumper bar that weigh a decent amount and the bar itself.

As part of this I've made the front guards and bumper easier to remove and fixed with less bolts.

I've also removed the front headlights and made some thin aluminium blank plates that bolt to the bonnet. Its suprising how heavy the lights are!

These were made old school by hand by hammering the sheet metal against some angles in the vice. The curve was hammered over a large socket.

The bonnet was then drilled and I used M4 nutserts into the aluminium blank plate so they can be removed and have the headlights reinstalled for night events.

Love it!

The pain of trying to remove weight from the front of the car... theres just too much weight bit no easy way to remove it.

Got any more pics of the radiator ducting?

I was toying with the idea of lopping it off at the firewall and building a tube front end. Maybe next year when I'm bored.

I'll take some shots of the front mouth tomorrow. It's only ducted on the radiator side. I've been meaning to duct in a CAI / air dam on the other side but haven't gotten around to it yet.

15x10s and 245 Hoosiers. I think the 275s would be overkill for an N/A.

Maybe if I go supercharger I can step up again.

I'm thinking i might need power steering or a gym membership to turn these things!

Wow they look wiiiiide for 245s. Where did you source them and did you have any issues with shipping?

What series are you going to run that allows these?

The 6ULs and tyres came from Zossy1's part out.

Since I de-registered my car it now sits in the outright category in the CAMS Speed Event Series. I'm running in the closed cockpit, under 2L class against anything that rocks up for the event. I've only been in this class for the last 4 events, of which I've won 2 and came 2nd in the others.

The main competitors in the class are:
A reworked Aussie car with motorbike engine, sequential box, lots of aero.
A super lightweight 2002 BWM with a toyota 3s-GE Beams engine.
Escorts, etc etc.

We can run slicks, aero, as much lightening as we want. It's a good class for me as I can develop the car in the direction I want. On the tighter hillclimb events and tight tracks there is chance I could come in the top 3 outright against open wheelers, clubmans etc.

I have another new toy... It needs a bit of work but hopefully it will all be together in time for the first sprint next year.

The dogs are a little worn on a few of the gears so I'm cleaning them up before reassembling. The gear ratios are extremely close with 1st ratio just under 2nd on a 6 speed box, and then 2-5th crammed into the same zone as 3rd to 5th so it should really suit my high power band.

The other interesting bit is that 1st is positioned above Reverse where 5th is, and 2nd through to 5th is on the standard 'H' pattern. It will take some getting used to I think, but I'm looking forward to that race car whine!
