Hi everyone. New to the MX-5 world. I have a 2004 NB, only picked it up Saturday just gone. I have found all four air vent grills are quite loose and drop after a couple of light bumps, so I am continuously pushing them back up. Is this a common problem? And if so, is there a common solution?
Regards
Peter

Re: Loose air vents
Very common issue, and easily fixed.
Basically:

Plenty of tips on the google: https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourcei ... op%20miata
Basically:
"On the inside of the vents, you will see three to four strips of velvet like material. This is the stuff that holds that prevents the eyeball vent from moving about. Replace these with new strips of black self-adhesive velvet"

Re: Loose air vents
Bought an a4 size sheet of self adhesive felt from Spotlight today for $4. Might be a little thick, but will have a go at getting the vent out over the weekend and see how it goes.

Re: Loose air vents
I've always been too scared to pull the vents out in the event I break one.
When I did was point the vents straight down, and put a small piece as far back on the eyeball itself. They stay in place and move when needed.
Lasted me for 5 years so far. Will pluck up the courage to do it properly one day.

Re: Loose air vents
I got a roll of this and found it to work really well.
It's about 1-1.5mm thick
