124 Fastback. Any truth in one coming ?
Saw on FB a pic of a 124 fastback for 2017. Anyone heard anything ? Looks a lot better than the ND targa.

Don't know why it reminded me of a Crossfire.
Cause then I googled a crossfire. And it looks nothing like it.

Those are the same photos from the original release. So Photoshop no doubt.
I saw one in the road the other day, so people are buying them.

Ooh 240z without the rust! Was my dream car as a teenager but they cost a fortune now, due to aforementioned rust I guess.

I think the body styling suits a coupe a lot more than a roadster.

This is great. Let's take a really good roadster and stick a roof on it. There's been a huge hole in the fastback market since the 70s!

... or in Fiat's case, the 60s ...

or lets take a brilliant handling vehicle and give it some more body rigidity, whilst improving its aerodynamics at the same time..
Sounds like a win to me. Not everyone buys a MX5 cos they want a convertible...

I'm picking up what you're putting down.
It's unfortunate they didn't do a better job of the front.

The original 1969 built 240Zs were fully galvanised. This process was deleted some time in the build cycle. Such a shame, but perhaps to keep costs down to sell more of them.

+1. What other affordable sports car offers good balance, race ready 4 wheel double wishbone suspension, Japanese build quality, parts availability and upgrade-ability. Real shame about the massive sunroof which I find completely unnecessary.

Mazda always had the RX models to satisfy demand from performance geeks. But with no new RX model forseeable for now, it might be the perfect time to offer a coupe MX5.
