My car was hit.. And written off :(
Not sure if this is allowed here but I just wanted to pay tribute to my NA; http://imgur.com/a/BUnqp
I was sitting in traffic on South St and got hit and insurance says its a write off:( . Bought her in March 2012.
On the plus side I wasn't hurt, (just sore back and neck the next day) and I am now in the market for another NA or maybe an NC!I also asked to keep the car and so I get to look at it. Still looks good from the front and on the inside.. Hahah

Wow that sucks.. Least you're mainly okay.
If you buy the car back from insurance I'm sure there's a pretty good chance of getting decent money for it.
Get an NA Or NB,
NC's are eww!

So clean! Such a shame. I'm glad you're okay, at the end of the day your body is more important than an MX5 no matter how few kilometers it has
If you DD the car an NC would be a good choice, extra air bags and the like incase someone decides to hit you harder next time.

Re the sore neck and back, get checked out by a doctor now, you may have some ongoing damage or damage that will rear its head in the future and neck and back problems are not fun.
Also, you maybe able to make a claim re injury, if there is evidence of damage, for costs and possible future costs of treatment. That's why we have third party insurance as part of our rego to cover medical costs, so investigate being able to make use of it to make sure you are healthy.

Re: My car was hit.. And written off :(
Very frustrating for you when a very nice car is written off through no fault of yours
Chances are the other driver wasn't paying attention (texting or on phone?)
Hopefully you will be able to get something happening by way of a replacement sooner rather than later.
As the others have said, glad to hear that you weren't injured and definitely buy the car from the insurance company.
Look for another NA8 or an NB - preferably an NB8B or NB8C depending on how much you have available to spend.
The hardtop is interchangeable with the NB, but if you happen to get another Silver one, be aware that the NB8A and the NB8B/C Sunlight Silver are slightly different shades.
Sound advice from MattR too - don't delay doing what he suggests and also let your insurance company know that this is happening.

Re: My car was hit.. And written off :(
MattR is spot on. Get a thorough check up. I'm suffering now later in life with serious neck problems due to an accident 30 odd years ago and not getting myself checked out properly. Thought I was fine at the time with "just a few aches and pains" ...

I'm glad to hear you weren't more seriously hurt, but sad that there's one less NA in the world. Sorry to be mercenary, but if you ever part it out I'd be interested in the wheels and rear lip.

I can only agree with what the others have said; get to a doctor and get a check-up; if you want to make any sort of claim later, and you haven't been professionally checked, you'll have nothing.
Sorry about your car, but I would (naturally) recommend you get a late-model NC PRHT!! More cockpit space, and no leaving your roof at home!!!

Sad to hear, but good to hear you're relatively ok.

Commiserations man. I stupidly scraped my front bumper this weekend doing a U-turn on some twisties over gravel. Bit of perspective for me!
And of course, as others have said, health is the number one concern here. Hope the checkup comes up as clean as that NA was
