He's fine. His health was my first thought. His mum arrived on foot within 5 minutes and even though the mum abused my wife and I, I stayed outside with them for hours.

Yesterday, the sydney hardtop guys test fitted and fixed in the rivnuts in order to bolt our roofs onto our cars.
Today I fitted the rear window with the pop rivets surplied by Dave.
I made sure to peel back the protective film just far enough to fit the rivets.
I found that the lexen flexed easy enough when doing the corners one hole at a time.
Now I just need to run a bead of sikaflex around the window and drill the holes in the rear tabs to fit the bolts that go into the Frankenstein mounts.
Will also need to work out a solution regarding the side window seals, as no matter how we fit the ones surplied there were gaps up to 10 mm which obviously won't seal if raining.
Now that I'm almost finished I quite like the top and could definitely do another much easier now that I have the experience.

Thankyou gentlemen.
The window seal will be an easy fix and I suspect that we didn't position them precisely, although some roofs had bigger gaps than mine.
Since the assembling is still fresh in my head I thought I'd note the steps here.
1. Bond the inner frames to the outer shell with sikaflex 227 or 221. I found using clamps to hold it all in place works best.
Best to follow the texta markings and nothing else.
2. Fit the rubber that goes around the back section of the hardtop and seals to the car. Don't worry about how the top fits at this stage.
3. Install the fixed brackets to the car. This may require trim/mounting plate removal.
4. Fit the roof on and ensure centre at the windscreen mounts. My brackets required some slight bending by hand.
Have a person either side if the car push the top down and forward.
Mark the 3 holes per side and remove the top.
5. Drill and fit rivnuts in the front section.
6. Fit the top to the car and tighten up the screws for the front brackets.
Then look at the side brackets and determine how much bending is required. Then bend.
Have a person either side push down on the top whilst marking the 2 bolt holes per side bracket.
7. Take off the top and drill/rivnut.
8.
Fit the top and this time fit and tighten the screws for the front and side latches.
9. Drill out the pop rivet holes in the rear window.
10. Mark the top centre hole in the top where the rear window will sit.
11. Place a rivet in to hold the window but don't pop it yet.
12. Push down on the rear of the top under the window to seal any gaps to the body of the car and line up the window for an even gap top and bottom.
13. Drill the bottom centre hole and sit a rivet in.
14. Pop the the top and bottom rivets.
15. Drill the holes from the inside out and pop rivets in. You can do a few at a time but leave both side corners.
16. Once all but the sides are done, drill and pop rivets one at a time. The lexen flexes easy with a bit of force.
17. Mark out the holes on the rear tabs and drill and fit the longer screws.
18. With windows up, fit the rubbers on the inside yet butted up against the glass. Ensure a tight seal.
19. Remove the protective film on the rear window and enjoy.
It is amazing how light these tops are. The lexen in the rear is probably as heavy as the top itself. It is that light.

Unfortunately I'm just not getting the time to work on my car.
January /February build date with a built engine is getting less and less likely.
So I've decided to change my plans and turbo the car with the stock motor and just run a maximum of 10psi.
This way I can build up my spare motor and drop it in when I'm ready.
So today I went about cleaning up the underside.
She was covered in filth and build up of oil and sludge.
I didn't get any decent before pics showing how bad the sump was so this will have to do.
After a bit of subbing, she came up looking like this.
Next up I'll be fitting the coolant reroute, wiring in my new injector connectors and rx8 injectors.
Then the 52mm radiator and mania hose kit.
Followed by my dump pipe and mating emily's old 2.5 inch exhaust to a new cat and my dump.
I'm also yet to fit my Dann can and washer bottle.
Really need to get her moving again as I'm sick of looking at how dusty she's become.

Have you decided on using the T25 or T28?
Engine looks clean as a whistle, should probably give mine the same treatment.

I finally have some time off work. 4 days to be precise!
So I thought that I'd make the most of it and try and get some stuff done around the Christmas festivities.
New injector connectors and rx8 injectors.
Fitted!
Then there's this concoction of piping and a spacer.
If there is an easy way to install a coolant reroute, I'm not aware of it!
The spacer was ok to get in but that rubber pipe was a massive PITA.
I also had to remove some of the tape from the coolant sensor wiring to give it a bit more slack.
I'm still yet to extend the fan switch wiring and I'll need a new connector from somewhere as mine was non existent.
Anyone know where I can get the connector from?
