Cheers Ralt.its a 1.6 I really have nothing to loose and it kind of makes sense. The fuel is not moving because they are the wrong way around. Fuel flow would be Getting blocked by the regulator I'll give it a shot tomorrow night.

No stress smy003. we know now the fuel lines are the other way AROUND on the B6 motor.
Cheers Ralt & Ross. Love your work.
@ross it just proves that you shouldn't be shy. Certainly not in this thread. Its not as though anyone here was deliberately trying to lead me in the wrong direction. If you hadn't said anything. I wouldn't have posted the picture So Thank you.
Thank you everyone.
There are still some issues. I butchered the heating element inlet. Its been bypassed. There is another leak of some sort at the front of the engine. not sure where its coming from yet.Not sure if its coolant or oil . I ran out of time.hopefully its not leaking out of the head gasket.
The indicators don't work
& the water temp gauge is still stuck on hot.
timing as set at 14
The engine seems to run happy low down at idle at least
the one issue is that there is a noise. Initial thoughts were that perhaps the cam sprockets are rubbing on the metal plate behind. It gets noisier as RPM goes up from about 4000 rpm. The noised changed considerably. So I parked it.
I'll also check to see if there is any shavings on the Cams in case i haven't put all the bearings in their original place.
I'll have a closer look tonight when I get home.
If valves or pistons are interfering Id know about it. right?

Great to hear progress STM.
I'm not shy, just uncertain
but it sounded like fuel lines the wrong way around to me, I wasn't sure which way they should actually go, had to wait until i got home last night to check and by then, Ralt and Speed had you on the right track.
Just for info, my 1.6, the front fuel line goes to the back and the back one to the front.

yea after taking the head off I realized I had not taken note on which way they go, which i should have. I was trying to avoid changing the fuel lines as I had real trouble getting them on thanks to my dodgy hand. But really it was only 20 minutes work i the end.
If I don't find any obvious issues with the noise I might post a video.

Congrats STM! Your observation below got you & Ross thinking:
StanTheMan wrote:There was a lot of pressure on that fuel line. Not much fuel came out. But when the pump got activated a shitload came out.
This would mean there is no fuel going back to the tank.

Re: Patchy's Fawlty Towers risk management. Enter at own risk
That's what I feel this forum is for. When you, smy003,Speed and a few others say something it usually carries some weight. At least with me. Sure occasionally things may not be correct. But that doesn't mean others know some stuff as well.
I really had a hard time getting those fuel lines on & I was trying to shut it out avoid going there. Which is my own fault.I was convincing myself i had somehow managed to block the fuel lines somehow. Even though they were closed the entire time.
on the other hand I was also trying to avoid getting another relay. Ive spent too much recently.
The megasquirt has arrived in AU. I'm waiting on a call to collect GST & Import Duty.
the mega-squirt will get parked for a while. Probably eventually install it. Play for a little & then go & see Nitro Dan.Probably talking early next year.
after that.....the paint job. Thanks to billybunter motivating me again. it will not be the full Job. Start with a panel see how I go.
