Race suit, helmet etc. where to buy in Brisbane?
I'm starting from scratch, need to buy a suit, helmet, HANS device etc. etc. I know about Revolution Racegear (although I haven't been since it was in Moorooka many years ago) and Racer Industries (have never been). Is there anywhere else I should check out?

If you know what sizes of gear you want you can go the on line option with Demon Tweeks in the UK.
Prices for kit are cheaper than here with delivery factored in and the exchange rate. Delivery is usually within 7 days too.
As much as I like to support local guys, when you can get the same stuff for near half price what are you going to do????

There's a place over at Toombul rd, Northgate too. Can't remember what they are call, but were pretty helpful. Look to have a speedway focus.
I just bought Helmet/Hans/Harness from Revolution for $1123.
Separately, I bought Boots, Gloves and Balaclava from them.
I'm sure it's not the cheapest I could have bought those things, but it is convenient to try on and inspect, timely, and I am unlikely to get fakes (and there are plenty out there. It's incredible what people will fake).

Thanks guys for the info.
I don't like paying Aussie prices so I do import a lot of things directly. However, clothing is one of those things which I prefer to select ‘hands on’ so I'm happy to support the local retailers for that.
The other consideration in this case is that I am in a hurry because I want it for a last-minute entry to the MX5 Challenge at the weekend

So the door to door racing has moved forward a bit on your to-do list then hey? You've left it very late, only option is to go to Revolution and/or Racer Industries and get whatever they've got in store that will fit you. Have you made sure the rest of the requirements are taken care of first? Would be a shame to spend money on equipment you might be 'settling for', only to find out you can't run for some other reason.

Indeed. I was going to wait until next year as I would like more track time in the car before throwing myself in at the deep end. However I have been encouraged to jump in now by the prospect of the camaraderie of some fellow first timers. I also missed the last Super Sprint round at Morgan park a couple of weeks ago, due to a cycling injury, so I'm keen to make up for the lost track time there.
All of the other requirements are taken care of. The car meets the technical regs, and is in pieces right now – always a good sign a couple of days before an event
I spoke to Paul Ansell today and joined the PSCRAQ. Paul has graciously agreed to accept an entry from me on the day, pending me getting the apparel organised. I'll make a shopping trip tomorrow and hopefully find what I need, but I won't buy unless I'm happy with what I find. If it works out it works out, but if not I'll be patient for next year…

Thanks Mark. MSA at Northgate. Their price for Helmet/Hans/harness was very similar to Revolution. I didn't check out Racer Industries... I didn't think it would be worth the trip (for me).

Well, Trackphotos was right that it is not appropriate to rush these things. I didn't have time to visit all of the suppliers but I spent the afternoon at Revolution Racegear. Very helpful service there, but it soon became clear that I was not going to be able to obtain everything to my satisfaction on the first visit.

Thanks both, very much appreciate the offers, but having pulled the plug yesterday I spent my time on jobs around the house instead of car prep so there's no way I can make it now.
