Re: Black or Silver ?
BlackLeaf and Maniac have great representations of two themes and both on great cars.
Here is part of my inspiration. A Ferrari 550 Barchetta. Note the black and silver treatment on the A pillars to make it look lower.
Maybe worth a try ?

I think mx5s (in light colours) can pull off the black pillars, but only if it's the whole windscreen frame.
Half/half always just draws attention to the fact its been painted.

I wouldn't. The Fezza is much busier in its styling. Lots of little details to catch your eye like the scoops and 3-piece wheels.
The MX5 is much simpler, so half painted A-pillars would stick out like sore thumb.

Well its going to be black satin. The Minister for War and Finance has taken a keen interest in Da Mouse and declared we are going to have weekends away together in it (who am I to turn down an offer like that ) and the colour should be black. So its now away getting sprayed and I should have it back by the weekend.

I'm keen to see how it turns out against the SS body colour. I think it'll look great. You might even get to use it once or twice before it becomes too hot to not have the option of throwing the roof up

Re: Black or Silver ?
Got my three part Speed Deck back from my spray painter. I'm the 2nd owner. He suggested a Satin black to match the powder coated twin hoop roll bar. The deck required no modification to fit and my mate said the quality of the fiberglass layering was very good, making prep a lot easier.
To me it does make the car look taller and stubbier. From the rear when following, it looks bloody fantastic.

Awesome, glad you're happy with it. The black matches the interior really well. It definitely changes the look of the reader half of the car.
The only issue is that you need to be sure of nice weather before you put it on. Too hot or too much UV makes for a bad time just as much as rain, and the roof is of no use once the deck is on. I think a bikini top would be the perfect accompaniment to the speed deck.

These lids are 3 pieces which were sized to fit into the boot if I recall.
So yeah, you can still use the softop, just need to Chuck the deck lid in d boot first.

Yeah, but they won't fit flat, they will rub and crash with each other, ruining the paint. If you're solo you can put one in the passenger side though

Re: Black or Silver ?
Sorry Lachy, I prefer the Black too (mine is black too so maybe I'm biased).
If nothing else, it'll be easier to sell if you ever decide to part with it (history of these decklids indicates that will only occur if you sell your car though).

Re: Black or Silver ?
Thx for the positive comments guys. Having it on will be only for a fair weather drive. Storing it in the boot will need some padding but I don't want to risk the paint.
Does anyone know how many were sold. I here 6 or 8 ????

I thought there were only 5 but I've also heard 6 from some sources (I prefer 5, much more exclusive ).

You, MINX and now Code4 (at the very least) all have black. Mine isn't. Who's exclusive now?
But seriously, the black looks good, but I'm still very happy with my silver. I like that everyone mods differently.
