BrownDog's Jap NB

Postby BrownDog185 » Mon Oct 17, 2016 1:46 am

(Biggest Dr. Nick Voice)
HI EVERYBODY!!

I present to you my 98 Jap Spec NB RS

BP Motor(DUH....)
6-Speed
Torsen Diff

Pretty much stock apart from the usual things...
i.e Exhaust, lowered, rims ect

First things I did when I got it was, buy a Dual Action polisher and clean the paint up; it's pretty good, except for the spots where tree sap had eaten into the paint and left it orange peeled :/
After that it was a service with new plugs, filter and Penrite 10w-40

Also threw in some FLI 8" splits from autobarn and a JVC amp in the boot
Great amount of bass, essentially put 8" subwoofers in the doors.

Pretty much my plan is to daily it until I got enough saved up for a turbo setup, then do skids :P

Forgot to mention I'm currently getting about 13l/100ks so I think it's time to change the o2 sensors

o2 sensor checked out fine, gave a little clean and it's a little better but still not great

Is there more to the stock airbox, Mine is just open at the bottom under the filter...

I answered my own question with my workshop manual
My box seems to be hacked up, so probly uses so much fuel as the motor is sucking nothing but hot air and injects more fuel to save itself

Actually hot air is less dense than cold air so it would inject less fuel to match the lesser air content...

Well...
The government feels that don't need a license for 6 months so I guess the 5 is going in the shed for a while :(

Gives me plenty of time to mock up a manifold for the turbo and some exhaust piping though
