2016 was the tipping point. In 2015 we had 3 mazdas (2x rx7's) and 1 golf.
Now I just have my 5 and 13bt s3 rx7 and 4 golf's.

You forgot to mention the other Orange lump with the flat tyre in the garage......

Took some time off from the house this afternoon and made up my alloy intercooler piping.
Needs welding and a few fittings fitted just before the TB but progress is progress :D

Yay! an update! Peer pressure does work! ;)

It really drives home how "low" the low-mounted turbo is!

Haha, yes you helped me along :)

Dann's low mount twist thingys are probably a bit lower and further foward. My turbo mounts directly on the side of the manifold and dead centre but the turbo is clocked. I was surprised how short the hot piping is.

Will get it welded up so I can rip the motor and rebuild.

Really happy with the 4 post hoist and so glad I couldn't fit the 2 post. The ramps and drip trays come in so handy when you want to put a tool down :)

You should have heaps of ideas after walking the pits of WTAC :)

The one thing Speed is not short on is ideas (that and parts lying around the house, very patient missus he has), progress on the other hand......

Hahaha. Yes my wife is very patient (and hard working).

I'll have you know that my mx5 parts have been cataloged, boxed and in a neat pile in a corner of a room we are not using.

This build has had a January end date for some time now. It may however be extended!

i still need to see this parts room steve with your taste in cars there would be gold in there!!! :D i imagine it like yahoo autions japan meets britsh barn find that somehow Valiant parts turned up in lol
great to see progress on the 5 its going to be awesome when done as yours is pretty neat in photos and being turbo, rocking the carbon hardtop it should make for a pretty cool 5.
i am now working on 2 projects the 5 of course and the Patrol is getting a massive jump in power (again) and a few little bits before another cape york trip so its in bits....again, i wonder how long it will be before i drop in a 6.5 chev turbo diesel, allison auto and be done with it lol (or buy a dodge RAM :P ).

The parts room is nowhere near as impressive as that. A few boxes of mx5 stuff and a shiz load of mk3 golf stuff from a car I stripped.

I'm really looking forward to getting my 5 on the road again and feeling the difference from stock to boosted. May change a few things like the roll bar and what not for engineering but I'll see what happens once the engine has been built.

Your patrol sounds like loads of fun and I'm glad you take it everywhere.

Hopefully I'll be continuing this thread from mid to late November :)

Not an update or even mx5 related but does have a soft top

2 weeks ago a p plater wrote off 2 of our cars that were parked on the street.
Thank god our R32 wasn't involved!

So to replace the vr6 we bought a mk3.5 golf cabriolet.
I'm really digging it.

Glad to know all is well though :D

He must have been flying. Pushed the vr6 14 meters and it was in park with the hand brake on!
