Having just watched a movie on the computer (which is plugged into the stereo) - then clicking "play" on the first of the WTAC videos was quite loud and slightly alarming. It was awesome!

Good to see you went quicker Mark, now stop playing with the car and just drive the thing.....

All the data is nice, but all you need to worry about is the stop watch and practice at this stage. Seat time will be the biggest improvement for you, so keep up the practice days and get some more tuition from guys that know, next week will be perfect timing to soak up knowledge transfer like a sponge.

Time to put some MCA Reds in mark? Or still sticking with the BCs?

Also don't worry about corner weighting the car. The outright fastest car this year has never been corner weighted ;)

a few major decisions to be made:
1. Rego is due this week, keep it road registered?
2. Add lightness?
3. More driver mods? Time attack, street sprints, hill climbs and/or door to door?

Suspension wise, data suggests that at times the rear springs are being compressed almost 35mm at times, so need to look at the travel. This could be stiffer springs and/or more travel, but then I remember point 3 above.

Planning to return in WTAC 2017, provided I'm accepted. Again not finish last and do at least a 1:51. Whilst a 1:51 is still slow for a MX5 around SMSP GP (looking at the MX5 NSW lap records) you need a goal that is achievable.

Do you need it road registered? Especially since you trailor it to the track. Definitely want to see you add lightness

Don't worry about anything else, just seat time.

That will give you a few seconds alone and once you cannot go any faster, ie, you are lapping consistently withing a tenth or so of your PB every session you do in like conditions, then, and only then worry about playing with the car.

MattR going driver mods as a priority

Chatted to Danny today when I dropped the car off for a service and discussed the direction for the next 12 months. Amongst other things driver ed was discussed, for example carbon panels and 6 point cage vs 8 or more MR Tuning track days. The MR Tuning days are better value:)

AD08's in 205's are the widest they make for 15" rims so may have to look at a set of 16" rims so can use a 225 tyre but again just thinking aloud...

Yup, much better bang for buck spending the money on the driver training and you will get much more enjoyment out of the car as well now that it is running reliably as you get to drive it to its limit.

This will also give Plus a much better return on their investment in the car.

Whilst, not having a running car at the moment, when I did have a car, I only ran suppliers' stickers on my race cars basically when they thought it was worth it, or I had a formal arrangement with them.

On the new car there will just be my company name, as it funds it, my signwriter, as his business is making it look good rather than going fast, and when it is quick enough, then engine builder, shop that sets up the suspension and does my tyre fitting and balancing and so on get added, as the performance needs to match the signs, and I want to give the best return for their investment I can. For me that means class placings in the category raced.

Another 'fun' Saturday at Morgan Park with SDT. Despite the wet conditions in the afternoon it was all in all a good day. Previous PB was 1:15.08 and whilst I did not better this No PB, but very close 1:15.61 however it has now come to light that the TPS was never going over 80% so I'm happy with the result.

The SDT format of from 0900 to 1500 allows for lots of track time and it appears that they will stick with this format in 2017

Notwithstanding, have some jobs to attend to, before committing to the event on 12/13 November:
1. Find/fix bad low speed rattle in the RL (sounds like damper)
2. Fix panel near accelerator that stops the pedal going all the way to 100%
3. Fix/replace low coolant alarm
4. Replace a few alignment bolts that are stretched
5. Check the eccentric bushes to see if they have 'moved'
6. Get relaigned
7. Replace rotors (ordered)
8. Organise a Dodgy Day in december
