I flipped over to the WTAC livestream a moment ago, and what do I see? Magpie and a white ND battling it out. I had to rewind and grab a few screen shots for prosperity. Hope you had a great day
Well a couple of achievements today, finally went past 200kmh and set a PB at EC. WTAC 2015 was 1:55.6970 today 1:54.2770. The advice given to me of using earplugs to block out the noise of the car worked (plus my other half told me to stop fooling around)! I reckon a 1:53 is possible tomorrow.
Thanks to another car I'm sharing a garage with found a nice rear wing mount DSCN3515 by Eipeip, on Flickr

Loving these updates, keep up the good work and heed the advice of the "other half".
That EVO has a strange use for rod ends on the horizontal stays. Its not like you would be adjusting them in and out. Could have just used a fixed rod and achieved same thing. Maybe they cant use a tape measure very well. Or over bought on the rod ends and decided to put them to use..
Mark, you should be down to 1:48's with your car, so pull your finger out and find the 8 seconds you need.
A quick tip, when reach your brake marker, count to three before hitting the brake pedal, you will get to one - one and a half before self preservation kicks in and you will have shaved a few tenths off. Do that for every corner and there is a few seconds, plus another second or so as you will have a higher speed through the corners and onto the straight.
Top speed isn't much, but it does help, its your speed through the corners that counts so you keep momentum up. Top speed into turn one in my old zed was 190km/h measured by the pit officials on the wall at a couple of meetings many years ago. My times came from the corner speed I was able to carry. Your car is similar, it should be able to carry a lot of corner speed.
So as Tess said, stop stuffing around and pull your finger out, you should be able to do a 1:50 with the new surface and slight changes aroound the back that make the track around a second or so quicker than what it was when i last played there.
Thanks Speed and all the other people who came up and said hi!
Yes the car is capable of more and my plan is to be able to drive it to its potential. 2016 after WTAC the decision was made to focus on driver mods and I personally think that I have started down the path of becoming a better driver. Driving fast is not a skill that comes naturally to me whereas riding a bike fast did, but bikes and cars are two completely different animals.
I managed a 1:53.6920 whereas the best I could get in 2015 was 1:55.6970, almost 2 secs faster with almost no real change to the car. Yes WTAC 2015 was plagued with reliability issues and it could be argued that the 'slow' time was because of the issues...
Anyway no excuses, I did not finish last and I was quicker so I'm happy. Already making plans to return in 2017 with a better driver at the wheel, a few suspension changes are needed as the rear is almost always on the bumpstops. Made a few very handy contacts who have suggested a few things as well as caught up with some people who enjoy collecting and analysing data The people I shared the garage with were great company and we all helped each other out. One of the most enjoyable aspects of WTAC is the way people help each other.
I'm working on a highlight video, probably near the end of the month, but here is a sample
