What's inside a hardtop?

Postby Windy » Tue Oct 11, 2016 6:46 pm

Has anyone cut up a hardtop or looked at a broken one to see what is inside the thickened areas such as where the front of the roof clamps to the windscreen hoop? Is it hollow, foam or more layers of the same stuff?

It's an outer skin, and inner "frame" sections bonded together. So it is hollow in some places. And double in others.

What Dave said.

Basically all fibreglass, just some parts are a lot thicker than others.
