Looking good on the rebuild front, when will it back on the road?

Hopefully around a month. Depends on time and how carried away I get with other bits in the car

Progress has been slower than I anticipated.
However it's getting pretty close now!
Had some new brake lines made to help clear the trumpets

And it's in! Still a bit to do though

Hoping to get a bit of time in the garage over this long weekend and get closer to starting it up :D

So you've got high compression,
did you do any porting?
cams?

are you willing to share any of that info?

Yep. Higher compression, has reground vvt cam's. The head has had a little work and been Port matched. The big porting and billet cam's might be phase 2 down the road. As will be some proper headers. They'll probably come sooner rather than later though

Made up some oil lines and fitted the oil cooler over the long weekend. My chest and arms are still sore from trying to push the speedflow fittings into the hose that I used :?

Mate, that's a really pretty car you've got there! The new engine looks really really nice. Neat, unique and well balanced with the headers and ITBs.
Just commit to it :NB8A:

Bit of an update.
Got the car running in the new year, was pretty straightforward besides modifying the throttle linkage to achieve full throttle. And a electrical ground I missed. Ran ok on the tune from the stock motor that was in the haltech. Got out and put a few k's on the motor before getting it retuned

Love this pic

Got rid of the 195/45/16 China tyres and replaced them with some re003's in a 205/45R16. Still a little stretched to fit in the gaurds. The Re003's are great on the road too!

Got to smsp for the club track day earlier this year. First time out with the new motor. Was a 40 degree day! Car ran perfect and managed to take half a second off my best in the hottest part of the day!
Here's me trying to keep up with russ' supercharged nc and Charlie browns 2.5l nc

Backed that up with taking 1.5 seconds of my best at Wakefield a month later on what others were saying was a slow track with no grip. The car was exceeding the tracks new sound limits too

So hopefully there will be further improvement to come. Especially if I can get the brakes to work well again. Since the new engine went in I've had issues with getting enough vacuum to power the brake booster

Very cool !
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
