Yeah I have a feeling it hasn't been done. No hassle :)

Haha of course, now It's my favourite colour for an mx5! I feel like some things (cars and non cars) look better in person than on the internet and others don't. The green definitely looked nicer in person ;)

Woo hoo. Coffs Harbour is a nice area. I actually got it from a place called lowanna 30 minutes or so inland. Was a very windy road coming back :)

- there is a receipt from late 2014 at 114,000kms saying "removed front timing case to check timing belt, has been replaced with gates unit in good condition".

Not sure the water pump has been replaced. If the timing belt was replaced at 97k kms by a Mazda dealer, then yes the water pump was probably replaced, unless owner specified not to. But not totally convinced the timing belt was replaced at 97k kms, as why would it have to be replaced again at 114k kms, unless a subsequently defective timing belt was used by Mazda at 97k kms, which is possible, but hopefully unlikely!
Anyhow, just keep a very close eye on coolant, & wait until the water pump goes, or 200k kms, when you replace the timing belt again, to replace the water pump.

Will keep a close eye on coolant.

I think you misunderstood. At 114,000 the timing belt was 'inspected' not replaced. That along with a service was documented as 1.5hrs labour and only like $200 all up :)

In that case, given it was done by a Mazda dealer, water pump was possibly replaced. You could always check with the Mazda dealer that did the work in 2011, as they should have more detailed records than just the receipt you have. Even the previous owner might know, but they may just tell you what they think you want to hear.

Congrats Zac. MX5s are the ultimate coast car!

Just so you know, I bought an Impreza last year from a private seller who'd always had it serviced at an authorised Subaru/Ford/Mazda dealer. The dealer used a Ford/Mazda service management system. After getting the previous owner's permission the dealer downloaded and emailed me the car's complete service history - every bit of labour, which mechanic, every part used, every reported fault, etc.

Yeah there is a code on the reciept from the Mazda dealer. May be worth looking into

I just finished cleaning up the engine bay with some de-greaser as it was sitting in a shed of the previous owner and had rat droppings, sawdust and dirt all around the bay. Really happy with the result. Plus a pic of inside the oil cap with that nice light colour we want!

It also has these. I love them and was wondering if they are normal/commom fitment on NB's?

Not standard fitment, standard was black plastic

But, they were an optional extra (like he CD player)
It was a moderately popular option so a fair few have them.

I assumed they were standard kit as everyone (at least the enthusiasts on here) seem to have them.

OK! Very nice Zac. The body-colour Hardtop is a real bonus and great to get as part of the package rather than having to try to acquire & paint at a later time (as I did).
Grace Green is a tremendous colour and looks even better when there is a HT on the car.
I see you also have the later NB8B 16 in wheels which IMHO are nicer than the NB8A ones.
You have done well. Enjoy.
