I can tell you what's next. Unfortunately something as boring as a timing belt & 200k service, but I think I'll treat myself to some extractors and full new pipe/muff/cat. Probably 2 inch????

Welcome to the club!

Once "moddin' fever" strikes, you'll revert to back to a teenager, common sense goes out the window and you're always looking for the next mod. Make sure that you use the Search facility first for any queries since almost every MX5-related question will have been asked and answered already and you'll find what works and what doesn't, saving you a lot of $$$, time and frustration.

They're a great little car that is easy to make even greater and personalise to your own taste.

Well , Im limited to cheap mods at the moment , so I thought I'd paint my rocker cover. Being a daily drive, I didn't want the car off the road, so I posted on here for a temporary loan. "Veloce" kindly obliged, and here is the finished product. I'm pretty happy with the result.

OH, I forgot to say that I changed the cam angle sensor "O" ring while I was at it. Luckily as It was stuffed.

Well I recently bought an ARC Intake chamber through the for sale thread. It arrived yesterday and 15 minutes later I had it fitted and went for a drive. I don't know if it's my imagination, but the induction note definitely sounds pleasingly more "manly". I like the look of those N power mufflers that mx5 plus are selling. Maybe next?

if you dont want to get a pod filter cut out the bottom of your airbox on the headlight side. It will increase the induction noise 10 fold.

Well, today I finally fitted a CAI & polished my strut brace. It was a bit of stuffing around to make the brackets to hold it all rigid, & relocate the windscreen washer bottle, but nothing too difficult. Scored a nice bit of 3" stainless pipe flared at one end, from work. (It looks so much better if its free!!!). Love the new induction note too. Cutting the hole was a bit scary though.

Anyway here's a pic.

Engine bay's looking good :P I noticed you've also painted your inlet manifold to match the rocker cover ... nice.

Might blatantly copy your black rocker/inlet when I get the opportunity  ....

Yeah thanks. I'm actually thinking of getting the rocker cover & inlet manifold powder coated silver to match the car.

Gladiators '90 MX5 NA6

Ok, so it's time to revive this old thread. I've been really slack & not bothered to update, Partly because there was nothing overly noteworthy, but mainly because I'm bloody lazy.

So, over the last few years I've made plans & cancelled them several times, & it wasn't until I was rear-ended by an OUT OF CONTROL TIRE WALL at Morgan Park, that it became clear to me what I wanted this little car to be. I realised that I didn't need boost (which was in the plans), I wanted it to, a) look good, b) be reliable, & c) To find that sweet spot in set up between street and track.

Since the last update I have fitted a Torsen 2 LSD, a set of MCA Reds, an MX5 Plus Roll Bar, some custom covered seats, Magpies old RevLimiter dash, a Bikini top, & a set of Enkei Jelly Beans. But now I'm almost ready to put it on blocks.
Then the make over begins. Stay tuned.............
