As far as collecting goes you'd want to leave them on.

They were factory parts for this specific model, which I seem to recall being one of the more limited editions of the coupe.
By removing them you'd be turning an uncommon factory original model into just another tampered car.

I seem to rember there being 3 coupe models, this one supposedly aimed at being "sporty"
Another which was a base model.
And a third which I think had a different nose all together and was sold as a luxury one.

Hmm, the plate says 36/200, so not sure where the 'one of 40' comes from - maybe 40 yellow cars? Pretty clean car though, non-standard intake and exhaust and the ricer stuff can be reversed fairly easily.

$40k is a lot, but these are like rocking horse sh!t so maybe someone has an uncontrollable urge ... looking at you in Queensland, you know who you are ....

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

OMG the luxury one is amazingly ugly, did the RX5/121 designer make a comeback?

a few sources say only 179 were ever built and rumour has it that the final ones weren't built because it was tking sales off the FD, i however don't think that is correct because FD finished in 2002. i would put it down to them not selling many compared to the regular model MX/roadster.
this is one of only 40 type A models produced which basically means fully specd 1.8L car (inlcluding the factory ugly flare, Front end/headlights and taillights, love or hate i guess)
more info here and photos for people wanting to have a read. in the photos i think the silver standard body car (with the roof of course) in silver side on looks much nicer than the yellow.
anyway here is some more reading for you all :D

Ouch, my eyes!
An NB with a lightyear CF hardtop would be much more appealing to me.

I am not a fan of yellow, but I think it works with this. If I had a spare 40 odd grand..... I remember seeing one in ebay a few years ago, it had been in a hit And been repaired...and had parking sensors fitted..pretty sure it for went cheap too..
