Hi everyone,
hope you are all well.
really quick question.
i am looking at a set of wheels that are 15x7 +30 offset and have searched to find some conflicting stuff.
My car is a S2 NA8, i know these on NB is an easy fit.
my suspension is standard height harder springs running -1.8 front camber, -1.3 rear camber, 0 degree toe, castor i cant remember.
my guards aren't rolled but if need be (and for piece of mind) im happy to do the heat gun and persuasion method of rolling if needed but if i don't have to that would be great.
tyres that will be going on these rims are my half worn 195 RE002 which from what i can read will fit no problems at all however the question is if i decide to go to a new set of RS3 205/50 will these wheels still fit an NA without scrubbing?
im thinking that with the camber i run 205's should be easy but would love some solid evidence before grabbing these wheels.
as a side note.
i also plan to run coilovers in the future but probably only around 30mm lower than standard for track and around standard height for the street, when that time comes i will also look at running -2 camber front and -1.5 rear (mine is maxed at the moment).
thanks in advance for all your help everyone.

Re: 15x7 +30 fitment on NA question
My current set up is NB8B with 205 tyres I'll take a pic. yours would be 22.7mm further out than mine I know if I put a 25mm spacer on I would need to roll the guards.
Mine is considerably lower than stock. But but certainly no Speed Hunter stance like setup
whats an S2 NA8? is that a different version of a NA8?

series 2 so different interior such as armrests, interior light on windscreen frame like NB and plastic blank offs where footwell lights were, few other small differences however the big one is its got the factory 133hp due to a 16bit ecu (BP3U computer) rather than 8 bit like earlier cars (BPF6A computer) and a massive improvement in tune. MOMO steering wheel instead of Nardi (similar design thought) plain black gear knob and possibly 4.3 diff as apposed to 4.1 but i have yet to confirm if this was just JDM and AUDM my vin has P5 in it as apposed to P4, P3 ect
Manga_blue drove mine and couldn't believe how well it went (for what it is), when back at his place we pulled the computer and its completely different including plugs. Also i know from looking at doing COP's that the rest of the wiring is different. down side is that my BP has the ugly rocker cover bolts not the pretty ones like early BP motors.

Pretty sure you will have absolutely no issues with +30 offset.

I'd forgotten what my car looks like, thanks Ross.
Lately I've just seen the underside...
Alex I couldn't go for a smaller offset. It's very close ;)

Interesting .I have a mate with 15x7 ET35 and 205's and it occasionally rubs on compression of the suspension when turning so it must be pretty marginal at ET30.Obviously suspension set up and even the variation in 205 sizes by brand may make a difference.A trial fit may be worth it if you can. Good luck.

thanks Ross in theary the 7.5 rim edge should sit out 6mm further i think so with the 205's on the 7s should sit 5mm further so it will be close but should be fine, the hard part is if the extra height (10mm) causes any issues. thanks for your help.

get it finished stevo!!! im hanging to go for a spin in it my springs are pretty firm so not a whole heap of compression, would you fit 205's to yours? (you may need 225 soon )

thanks Peter, this is interesting because everywhere says 35 offset is no problem at all but as you said tyre companies size do vary, as a side story i had a set of 37 inch tyres on one of my 4wds was an american brand i cant remember was too big so downsized to a 35 inch in either Maxxis or Micky thompson, had many tyres at the time so can't remember and the new 35 inch was taller. on measurement it was 37.5 i now have 33 inch Mickey T's on that car but i hear that cooper owns them now and to be honest these ones are nowhere near as good as previous sets which is dissapointing at $454 per tyre.... i have 6 on that car.
this is why i love the MX-5 community.
thanks for all your help everyone.
i think i will grab these i just want to put them on the scales first and go from there and to be honest with the build i have planed im probably only looking 110-120kw N/A and heaps less torque than a turbo or SC so if i have to stay at 195s i don't think ill have traction issues unless i want them.

Interesting point raised about tyre size variation.
On the right is a Bridgestone RE003 195, on the left is a Chinese 205.

Alex, I'm on lowered king springs now and still no scrubbing.
Would have to wait and see re a 205 but that's a long way off.
Hopefully I can get back to working on my car from October and have her running (with a few parts that I've collected and rebuilt motor) in January.
