NB Leather seats reupholstered in Melbourne

Postby Theenyx5 » Wed Sep 07, 2016 9:32 am

Hi all,

Been looking around trying to get a price to reupholster my seats. Anyone know a cheap place to go that will do red leather? Most of the quotes I've gotten are around $1100-1400

Was also looking at buying a kit off eBay and fitting myself. Anyone got any experience with this and can recommend it (or not).

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172248434422

Thanks

Give these guys a call.

http://www.xoticleather.com/
Clarence Tel: 02 9648 2282

They the best in the business. every upholsterer buys direct from him.
Easy enough to do yourself using cable ties. I think I paid about $600 a few years ago for my nb8a. They were perfect black leather with green stitching.
$1100-$1400 would be about right because it was about $600 to professionally fit them. It will take you a whole day to do yourself but plenty of videos online to help.

Fitting them makes a lot of sense and is fairly straight forward. I did mine over a couple of nights in front of the TV.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Contacted Clarence at exotic, $850 +gst. Still to send me a postage cost.

Quote is more than the eBay ad which was $825 including hog rings and pliers to install. Haven't heard any feedback on these though...

I have the ebay covers in Tan in my NA.
The fit is good, not perfect though.
It's not hard to do yourself, just takes time.
don't bother with the hog rings, cable ties are much easier and do the job fine.
Cheers

I have given this a bit of thought today as I have been know to have a bit of a seat fetish
Having had many, many sets of seats including leather and Leather SE and Sparcos and now Brides I have only this to say.

"Buy a set of NB8B seats in good condition for about $400 and that's it".
They are the most comfortable seats for our cars, Leather will be hot, make your back sweat and you will slip around in them when you fang around corners. It will save you

my 2 cents :D :D

the pictures actually look worse than real life, seem to highlight every crease.
You can see there is a few creases in spots, I tried getting them out, pulling, pushing, adjusting, but the fit just isn't perfect.
The leather is reasonably thick and should hopefully wear well, stitching and seams seem well done too.
my car isn't ever going to be a show queen so I not too fussed, but the flip side is had I spent another $200, I would probably have got a much better fitting cover.
Quotes were $1500-$2000 to have them done professionally.
Cheers
