My dad has a 93, the one with the tan interior and BBS wheels. Did this have Bilstein shocks from factory ?
Anyway, he feels as though it needs shocks, he is almost 80 and probably wants something on the softer side, any recommendations ?

Yeah I cant see any mention of bilsteins, so I guess in any case I am looking for advice on a replacement shock thats more on the comfort side.

Re: Shocks for 93 LE
Not sure if the ADM 1993 red LE had Bilsteins fitted from the factory, but the USDM 1993 red LE did have, & so had the modified tie rod ends of the US R Package (also fitted to the ADM Clubman), to take into account the lower spring perch of the Bilstein dampers - see fourth post from bottom of following: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=30041&start=15
So if your Dad's 1993 LE has Bilsteins fitted, then they're probably factory fitted. Koni's & Kings or Eibach springs were always popular, or get the Bilsteins revalved at Heasmans for about $175 per damper.

Personally I wouldn't compare the US version to the AU version. The US version also had a LSD tonneau cover while the AU version came with a Hard top & open spinner.
Mind you I find the black with red interior quite nice.

Our 93 Red LE didn't have Bilstiens and hence you didn't need a kidney belt to drive it!! I found Koni's with stock springs a great set up when I had my 91 NA6A.Probably the best street set up and i did try Koni/ Kings Koni/Eibach and later Tein SS.
