Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
Mine had the sames surge issue after the fuel pump was replaced with a 450lph Walbro. Even though the factory filter sock was used, it was positioned too low and caused the sock to face slightly upwards rather than angled down.
I had surge issues with anything under 1/2 tank until the sock was repositioned.
In relation to the diff, if you have a lot of hp/torque, you will still get inside wheel spin if 20% of the torque is enough to spin the wheel/break the traction. Mine does this, and I'm confident there's nothing wrong with the diff.
You may have to go to a clutch pack diff to fix that.

^^ assuming you have a diff that relies on a torque bias ratio to operate.

I also have the same two problems. I keep the tank full to the top. And that fixes the fuel surge. The Torsen spinning the inside wheel however is another story. The cheapest fix I can recommend is to hold half throttle and wait for the tyre to get grip. That's what I do anyway. Then 3/4 for a bit, then floor it.

I should have mentioned that I can now run with the fuel light on and no surge :-)

Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
dave the diff i recommended to you has clutch packs and does not slip even with quite a lot more power than you have -

Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
Forgot to mention the power steering belt failed again - on turn in to turn 1. It seems the pulleys are out of alignment, causing it to climb off one of them at high revs. With Phillip Island being a faster circuit I didn't bother to fix it as the weight wasn't too bad and there's way more feel without it.
Anyone able to link me up to threads about doing the rest of the de-power (two different options apparently)?

Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
Mania did mine - apart from pulling out all the unnecessary parts, it's just a matter of turning the wheel back and forth to get the fluid out. You don't want to remove all of it (ie bone dry) but to leave a film of it behind to lubricate the moving parts.
You can then seal the openings with silicon(?) or the right sized screw in plugs.
Cheapest and simplest way to do it I think!

Yep, I'm doing the same with the throttle. Reckon there'd be a second per lap for fixing each of these issues plus a bit for weight reduction by no longer having to have a full tank plus a bit for extra control because of the power arriving and staying there when you expect it around left handers. Overall probs gets you into 1:3X territory?

Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
Brendan mentioned the bonnet was fluttering at PI. Noticed why today: Someone has removed the rubber stops from the front corners. How low can someone go?

Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
Very happy with how European Auto installed these vents. Bonded from underneath instead of riveted from the top.
Would love the person who borrowed the bonnet stoppers to return them please so the front edge no longer flaps about.

Re: Dave's SE - REBORN
Can you please post a shot of the underside of the bonnet?
I'm curious to see how much bracing was cut.
You should also install some Aerocatch hood pins because the bonnet will be much floppier now, don't rely on the single centre bonnet latch.
