Hi guys,
Just an update of the situation, my front coil-overs have been reverted back to stock so I'm driving half and half at the moment. The person I bought the coilovers off is taking to gecko now and he will also take a look at the car as gecko said making the car higher or lower will resolve the issue. I'm not fussed at the moment as the Gecko coilovers in the rear are pretty nice for daily driving. We'll just have to see once the fronts get put in. Will update how gecko respond.

Making car higher or lower isn't a genuine option unless you are either stupid high or low. ie outside the design range

Re: nb8b coilover touching upper control arm HELP
My understanding is that a lot of coilovers were designed for NA and early NB's. Series 2 NBs have a reinforcement panel on the control arms that closes over the hole a bit causing the locking ring to ever so slightly catch on this under heavy compression.
I had this with my yellow speeds but only under super extreme compression at motorkhanas or turn 2 at Wakefield but it only juuuust touched.
Never ever experienced it ever on the street.
Not saying it's acceptable but it may not be a problem for a street car.
Yours however is sitting way hard against the control arm and that's really not good! Any compression and your going to have a bad time. Hopefully gecko can rectify this for you or at least get a refund.

Re: nb8b coilover touching upper control arm HELP
Hi guys,
Sorry for the late update, been quite busy lately getting the T&C exhaust done .
I've got front coilovers now and they fit perfectly, about 1-2cm shorter on the lower legs than before as they had heaps of thread. The no longer rub/touch the control arms at all and are great, they're quite comfortable for daily driving but I reckon I need to stiffen up the dampening a bit, they're on the softest settings.

Judging by the first photos in the original post, the lower locking nut was rubbing on the A-arm? Easy fix would be to shorten the lower tube the shock screws into, hence the locking nut being further away from the A-arm.

Gecko were quite helpful however I didn't actually buy the coilovers directly through them so I had to go back through the distributor but it all turned out well.
Yeah the lower legs are shorter so the locking ring sits lower then the upper control arm
