You can try eBay.
Buy some QFM HPX pads. They'll cost you $79 and actually work.

Cheapest front set I can find on ebay are ~$50
I may also get a disc+pad combo if anyone knows of any cheap deals.

All the more reason to go with the brand name stuff. An extra $30 well spent.

Re: NA 1.6 replacement front brake pads
I've used cheap pads before.
$20 an axle for "axxis" brand.
Daily use they were fine, no issues at all and lasted me maybe 4 years.
For hard driving they were average, one good stop would cook them.

I've seen new ultra cheap pads crumble to dust after 2 or 3 hard stops in a row. They were incapable of surviving one steep descent. QFM HPX are really really good. Economise elsewhere, not on brake pads.

Dunlop Volley on a stick nailed to the door?????
That would be pretty cheap, and stop better than a lot of the noname brand stuff around

Re: NA 1.6 replacement front brake pads
DB1282 seems to match a Bendix part no. for the NA8 front.
Also, they certainly look like NA8 pads.
See Na6 pad:

And Na8 pad:

Re: NA 1.6 replacement front brake pads
It looks like you have been sent (or accidenaly ordered) pads for an NA8/NB8A
NA8 and NB8A were the only models to have shared brakes, the rest of the mx5s all had different parts each.

Re: NA 1.6 replacement front brake pads
Seems it was an error in their ebay listing, they are sending me the correct pads for no extra charge. Great customer service
