You guys put far too much thought into it. Enter as many track days as you can afford. Do as many laps as you can. Obviously some people will take longer to find the last 10%. But you will have fun trying to improve.
This is my first crack at driving my new car. Basically starting to learn to drive again, it's so different. But it shows that a V8 sounds better than a 4 cyl. And once you get your head around it, all that's left is to find the grip limits. I struggled to get confident, as the rears locked before the fronts. So was very cautious under brakes.

Solid effort. Reckon your skills in eeking out every last drop of performance from a 5 has translated well in the V8. ... And your knowledge of the island!
