Re: Cus' NA6
It is well known that I am not a fan of change, everything must stay the same, all the time, until the end of time.
So after some quiet reflection I decided I was probably being unreasonable about the brides, and I should attempt a second day of driving in them to see if I could adjust to the change.
It turns out I was being unreasonable! Unreasonably Optimistic. I simply don't fit, my shoulders are wider than the wings so after a 30 minute drive my shoulders ached like I'd been doing exercise. It is also well known that I do not like doing exercise.
So, I'm back in the stockies.
I've actually taken up doing exercise recently, and taking note of the things I eat. It turns out being a smoker is a good way of keeping weight down, or quitting is a good way of putting it on really quickly. Either way, I've gained weight for the first time in about a decade. Probably because I'd been using cheesecake as a Nicotine replacement.
Don't do that.

I haven't seen the ads for the cheesecake therapy, do you have to be a smoker for it to be effective?
Good work on giving those things the flick.
Bride reps are sold every day on the silvia classifieds pages on facebook, you could turn them around pretty quickly there.

That seat looks bloody sweet.
I suffer from massive shoulders too.32" backside
I get it totally. Nothing wrong with not wanting to change when its not comfortable. I'm sure you'll ofload these without too much trouble.
I'd love to get a chance to sit in an Evo 6 or 7 seat

An Evo 6 seat is nothing special. Just too big and wide for an NA.

Barely fit. I believe the bolster hits the door (like everything else). An MX needs a small seat to look right.

well apart from the NA6 seats.....Most things would be better than a NB8B seat.

Crazy Internet Conspiracy Theorist wrote:You won't see ads, "Big Pharma" would rather you prescribe to their solutions! Cheesecakes and Roadsters cure all problems!
bruce/stan: The bolster actually touched the door with the reps (but only just) - The seats in droo's car were way more comfortable than my stockies and they had shoulder supports and fit into a roadster - so it is possible to find something that works, no idea how close they were to the doors though, I didn't have that on my mental inspection list at the time, I was too busy inspecting his fancy electronics!
What I'm probably going to do is liquidate the seats (Because I got a pair, always double-down on bad ideas!) and put the money into one of the many things in the todo lists I made up the other day.
Speaking of which - I have a tacho again, one down, many more to go!

Re: Cus' NA6
Try finding a Mazdaspeed B spec seat.
Bolsters in the base, but none for shoulders.
I find it perfect for road use as you can still look around easily etc but have more than stock support
Also you sit lower than stock (lower than a Sprint V too)
I know a guy selling a pair in Vic if you're I interested

I think I saw those on one of the FB groups. I promptly put a mental block around it, I am quite interested, but I don't need them so I don't want them (yet)

Re: Cus' NA6
If the guy was Alex it's he same one.
I've got one in my car if you ever want to have a test sit.
Downside is I'm rarely up Bendigo way these days.
If you're ever down near Mt Dandenong send me a PM.

I think it was the same one - I'll shoot you a PM when I'm down your way next, I get around a bit
I keep forgetting to change my location! Fixed now!
I moved to Maryborough because ... I don't know, I wasn't thinking clearly
I think it was an effort to avoid moving to Melbourne, but that's where the interesting jobs are so it's inevitable...

"Mildly Alarming"
Tomorrow is the 2 year anniversary of Little Red, but he almost didn't make it.
Driving along an hour ago, going into Bendigo so we can do a "Sibling Dinner" with the brothers and sisters and partners and offspring.
I'm doing 90 because it's raining and I'm starting to run out of high ground to drive on, which you need on the AD08Rs because too much water = hydroplaning.
I come around a corner, and the road is white. The road usually isn't white, but there's a pair of tyre marks, so my brain decides we need to get onto those while we process this whiteness.
The sound of the road noise drops by two octaves, and the rain on the windscreen starts bouncing off because it's solid.
Well... That explains the white. I've already backed off the throttle, we're doing probably 70 at this point - which is both good, and bad.
The good news is I'm doing less speed than I had been. The bad news is that I'm now sliding off the road, the steering wheel does not work, and none of the pedals do either.
Oooohh fuckery-doo. All of the white is hail, and it's covering EVERYTHING.
I turn the wheel slightly away from the trees, and apply a slight amount of brake pedal, just in case I somehow get traction on the frozen marbles, and I start mentally plotting my trajectory for no reason other than there was nothing else to do. The car was sliding off the road, and I was the in the driver's seat, but I was quite literally the definition of a passenger.
I slide right past the first two trees, and I'm headed for the least grassy part of the side of the road. MUD! I'm not normally excited about mud, but it's my best chance of traction, and I don't actually have a choice in the matter....
We slip right off the road, the car straightens out and pulls up. I sit there in the hail storm for a second. Yup. That happened. I've missed two trees while going off the road, and pulled up 5 meters away from hitting one fairly squarely.
I put my hazards on, do a U-turn and drive the 100 meters back out of the hail storm.
I'm not going out to dinner tonight.

I also got stuck in the hail today, but I was able to just pull over. Glad you and red are alright, any hail damage?
