Hi all,
As we get asked about our ND and the mods we have and are planning we thought we'd do a garage chat post about it.
Thanks to our great mates at West End Mazda, we have a Soul Red 2 litre, 6 speed manual ND.
First on the list of mods was the Goodwin Racing headers. As these were a new product from Brian and his team we were unsure whether they would fit the RHD application however we were able to determine that this would not be an issue -
We are working with Goodwins regarding the LCB ones however initial measurements lead us to believe they probably wont fit in their current design.
We then added the Roadstersport Super Q muffler - http://www.mx5parts.com.au/product/road ... x5-exhaust
and combined this with the Glass packed baffle - http://www.mx5parts.com.au/product/glas ... tersport-q
This give a great exhaust tone without any drone when cruising yet when you open it up it has an awesome note!!

Next up on the list was the Progress Technologies sway bar combination
http://www.mx5parts.com.au/product/progress-technologies-mx5-front-and-rear-antisway-bar-combo
We combined these with the low profile front links
Even without coilovers these swaybars are a terrific improvement with the car feeling much tighter and flatter through twisty mountain roads yet not compromising the ride for everyday use.

I have the Super Q on my ND, purchased from you, and now it has had a couple of thousand km it booms at highway cruising speed in 5 or 6th,especially on slight inclines. Will the packed baffle fix this? Will it still have the great roar at WOT? Will it lose any power?

Re: MX5 PARTS ND 2 LITRE
We just fitted up the TEIN Flex Z kit - http://www.mx5parts.com.au/product/new-tein-flex-z-for-nd-mx5
and EDFC electronic damping controller
These are a fantastic addition and with the EDFC you have the ability to complete live changes to the settings to accommodate changes in road surface and conditions. You can save various settings so each driver can have their "default" setting ready to go when you start driving.
Fitting is very similar to the NC so they are very straightforward to do.

They are a newish item for Goodwins and getting them made and stock availability has been a high priority for them. We aim to have them available ex stock in around 2-3 weeks.

Re: MX5 PARTS ND 2 LITRE
We completed our first trackday in the ND at Lakeside Raceway with the QLD MX5 Club and what a great day it was!!
The ND performed great and the handling set up was fantastic with the car feeling very neutral and you were able to to be very confident around the bumpy, high speed circuit. We ran the stock brake pads and tyres and were still able to do a 1.04:3 although at the end of each session the tyres were crying enough!!
I've not doubt with set of R specs and some track based pads we would see a fair chunk off this time.
Many thanks to Adam and all the people at Lakeside and the MX5 Club of Qld for the day and look forward to the next one.
