Nearly drowned in a MX5

Postby OMY005 » Sun Aug 14, 2016 7:57 pm

Saw this on Chanel 10 news tonight.

Very happy ending for all, except the car that is.

Good thing she didn't have a hardtop.

I heard apparently she was drunk and on her phone before driving into flood waters.

I get a little annoyed when some people win "Hero" awards for doing what seems very little but this was definitely worthy of a "Hero award", he put his life in danger for someone he didn't even know.

It reminded me of the young Asian guy up here in QLD who pulled a truckie from his burning truck last year, climbing over the front of it wearing only shorts, t-shirt and thongs - he actually lost one of those thongs in the rescue; not sure if he got an award but he sure deserved it (a new set of thongs at the very least).
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!

A follow-up on this story.....

Not only was she drunk, she had stolen the car!
The real owners lost everything in the flooding too.....

The good news is that a bunch of local MX5 owners have come to the rescue, have retrieved, and are undertaking the huge task of restoring the car to be returned to the owners.
