Anyone opt for the kuroi pack and did it come with the black wheels?
Was checking out the kit online last night and really like the look of it :)

Personally I reckon there are better ways to spend your money than on an MX-5 bodykit unless it improves aero, which this one doesn't. The wheels are not included in the pack and are not larger than standard, just blacker.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Sure sure but I like the look of it for a standard car. Thought it complimented the shape nicely.

The design of the wheels look good too not just the blackness.

Threw a set of Eibach springs in our ND a few weekends ago.
Really easy job. Easier than the NA/NB design.

End Result, a subtle but satisfying change:

Got our ND MX5 2 litre and couldn't be happier with it.

Already started the mods including headers, exhaust, swaybars with ECU tune and coilovers coming soon.

American pre-orders were announced to day for the RF.

1000 units for their Loyal Customers (you need to have bought 2 cars off them for x amount of years or something) and they will get the Machine Grey with Red Nappa leather seats and a hand painted piano black roof.....hmmm, I think I'd like mine painted by a spray gun, thanx!

I also rang Jake at Grand prix Mazda today and he asked about the RF yesterday and so far, no news for Ozzies....

Ohh, with the American Launch Edition, you also het a numbered watch with it......hmmm, not sure what incentive that is, to shell out 50k?

Pic attached is what my RF should look like...

Returning to the title of this thread ...
Guran wrote:My prediction is that sales will mirror what they've done with previous MX-5s ... about 1500 in the first full year (2016). Possibly up to 2000 based on the 1.5L and 2.0L offer with very cheap entry pricing.

Update on Australian sales data for the ND:

Jul 2015 - 37 - YTD 47
Aug 2015 - 220 - YTD 267
Sep 2015 - 97 - YTD 364
Oct 2015 - 90 - YTD 454
Nov 2015 - 221 - YTD 675
Dec 2015 - 242 - 917 total for 2015
Jan 2016 - 115 - YTD 115
Feb 2016 - 209 - YTD 324
Mar 2106 - 192 - YTD 516
Apr 2016 - 185 - YTD 701
May 2016 - 118 - YTD 819
Jun 2016 - 109 - YTD 928
Jul 2016 - 112 - YTD 1040

Total sales for the 12 months from Aug 2015 to Jul 2016 is 1910! The ND has smashed the first 12 months of NC sales (1564 for Oct 2005 to Sep 2006), and NB sales (1764 for May 1998 to Apr 1999). I don't have monthly figures for NA but there were 621 sales in 1989 (Oct onwards) and 1446 in 1990, so the first 12 months was probably about 1654 ( (621+1446)/(15/12) ).

I don't want to sound like a know-it-all ... but damn, that was a pretty good prediction! 8)

When I signed up for mine (last day of July) it was the 4th one that they had sold that week. He said people are very specific (1.5 or 2.0) when buying one, no cross shopping between models like the 2 or 3 or CX3 and CX5. In fact I never drove a ND before hand.

That's funny you should say that.
I'm ordering an RF and having had the 1.5litre, there is anything but disappointment. I'd gladly have another 1.5litre, but having said that, I'm actually buying a 2.0litre this time around.

Hope I don't regret it....

Frank. I have a 1.5 and love after being very sceptical about the ND in general.A friend has a 2 ltr and I can assure you that you have done the right thing!! It is really quick and the price difference is a bargain in my view.

I was looking at a demo and couldn't get a 2 ltr under $6000 more at the time, nothing like the new car price difference.I enjoy the fact that you really have to drive the 1.5 and maintain corner speed to keep up on spirited runs but for $2500 I would have a 2 ltr every time.

With a Renault Clio Sport RS200 keeping it company in the garage I have enough invested and will continue to enjoy the ND but do not have a moments doubt, 1.5 great. 2.0 even better, exhaust note aside.

Look forward to hearing your comments when you get your new car.

Peter.

How would you convince the owner of a low k NA8....that buying a ND is a Good idea....;)
You can't demand respect....you have to earn it
NA8 for Fun, CX5 for carrying crap...;)
