Hey guys,
Just want to be able to play music from my phone through the OEM head unit via a 3.5mm plug. Does the OEM head unit have a AUX socket in the rear that I can plug something into?
If so, can anyone recommend a suitable adapter?

From memory you could adapt he later units to have an aux in, it involved soldering some stuff. (Sorry it's so vague, I just remember seeing something about it ages ago)
Alternatively you can buy a tape adapter, basically a cassette tape with a cord out the side of it.
I've used my old Sony adapter in my mx5 for about 8 year now without issue

Just get an aftermarket unit. The sound is night and day.

Or look into a Grom audio unit which will let you retain the stock head unit whilst allowing bluetooth, mp3 and aux capability. I was looking into it but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

No simple way to add an AUX input to the factory SE radio unit, ask me how I know......
Ditto this!
You can even go for an nice single DIN replacement and add some gauges for good measure, I did.

Thanks guys.
It was only ever going to be an interim fix until I got around to doing a single din aftermarket head unit and gauge setup exactly like Nevyns. Time to start investigating that option I guess.
