Thanks Rocky, Unfortunately I've now been bitten and search carsales.com, Gumtree, trading post three or four times a day, waiting for the new listings. Bit obsessive really. I have two to look at this weekend, an NB and an NC.
I have bought and sold quite a few motorbikes over the years, more so than cars, I think the basics are roughly the same ( Except for two more wheels:-) so I really believe I'll know which vehicle to purchase when I see it. Just got to get out there and see as many as I can!

Thanks for the sound advice.

Well I purchased an MX5 yesterday. An 02 NB Titanium, 86K in lovely condition, full service history, Books, 2 keys, Alarm sys, 12 months Reg. I've only dríven a few examples so I don't really know what to expect of the handling characteristics, but this one at slower speeds, say 0-80kph sometimes feels like I'm in tram tracks, could this be a front end issue or maybe tyres or is it a normal trait?
I am getting it looked at next week but I thought I'd ask and see if "they all do that".

Cheers
Mark

sounds weird to me. NBs are great active handling cars. Terrific steering light but positive to the touch and very comfortable for a sports car. Anyone familiar with MX5s will know if it feels as it should.

Wheel alignment Tuesday, we'll see if that fixes it. Fitted tyres are Bridgestone Potenza RE001 Adrenalin 205 45R16 87W and seem to be worn evenly.

Mark if they are over 6 years old they will he as hard as.... and will probably magnify any alignment issues,

First stop is an alignment, are you using Safety Motors?

looking forward to seeing your car,

Peter.

I'm thinking they might be a tad old and hard, alignment first tomorrow (JAX) and we'll see where that takes me. Cannot use Safety Motors ... Long story. Getting the car checked over by Doug Edwards Friday.
I'll give you a bell Peter if I see some sun!

Peter, I just googled Bridgestone RE001 and they were replaced by RE002 in 2011. The RE001 were sold at a start date 2007 so mine have to be 5 years old at a minimum 9 years old max! Lucky I'm going to JAX!

Thanks for the warning.
Cheers

Well went for a drive down the Great Ocean Road today. I used to frequent the GOR on my bikes and now I no longer have them the mx 5 is a great replacement. As you know I'm new to this, so took me a while to start really pushing through corners, what a great relief to realise the car goes better through corners than in a straight line!
Had a blast.

Cheers

Great to hear Mark. Getting new tyres and an alignment soon, hopefully I have the same experience too!
