Hello all, i'm Owen with my 12 year old user name that I made for Nissan Silvia.com back in the day where drifting was my thing... I've finally decided to make a 'build thread' for my 93 Chaste white NA8 Clubman, hopefully I keep it up to date as I want to look back & reflect on my progression. This is car #6 for me after having Silvias, Skylines and a wrx, I purchased my R32 GTS-T when I was 15 & I'm 110% self funded no mummy and daddy sponsored kid before you jump to conclusions.
Anyway most people would have seen my car before i'm sure:
*I hate posting snapchat pictures but its a nice photo. RIP
Now I have purchased a daily & put a big sound system in it, I haven't actually dríven the Mx5 for about a month. Which has actually been a goal of mine for a long time to just put this car aside & do what I want to it slowly. Strange I know, but its satisfying for me to know I can enjoy it when I want to rather than using it everyday. Since i'm currently gap yearing after finishing school i'm hoping I can still afford 2 cars when I go back to uni next year... Not exactly every 19 year old has 2 cars but that's what happens when you don't drink, smoke, do drugs, party, go anywhere, have a social life & work 5-6 days a week. All my car knowledge is self taught, I do it out of interest & enthusiasm, I enjoy building equally if not more than driving.
Enough about me, now that i've had this car for 1.5 years its gone through quite a progression internally, not externally. I'm pleased with the subtle exterior for the moment so it will continue to stay how it is until I can be bothered. The car was retro fitted AC which was fitted like sh*t & didn't work, nor did I use it. So that's gone. I didn't buy the Mx5 to be a convertible, so the soft tops gone. I don't need to store stuff in it, so the center console is gone.
Rough current mod list without spending a million years writing everything out:
- Original BP05
- Mania intake
- Car make corns exhaust
- High flow cat
- Maxim works headers
- Magnacore leads
- Mishimoto rad
- FM Happy meal clutch/flywheel
- MCA Blues 10/7
- Frame rail braces
- More braces
- AGI Hardtop only half cage
- Garage star door bushings
- Garage star hardtop brackets
- Acre light sports front pads
- Project Mu SCR 6+ front rotors
- Hawk HP+ Rear pads
- DBA (garbage) T3 rear rotors
- Braided 949 lines
- SUPER BLUE
- Personal Grinta wheel (wheel #3 looking for #4 already lol)
- Genuine Bride Zeta 3 Sport C
- Garage star fixed rail
- Beatrush knob
- NB Carpet
- Legit Eunos Roadster white/black checkered mats
- R package lips
- Runnabout M2 mirrors
- Sunlight silver hardtop
- 14's or die SSR MK3
- RE001
I think that's vaguely it skipping a tonne.
Some cliff-notes: I know its too low to be properly functional but i've tracked at this height & it was fine, I hate DBA, I love ATE Super blue, 14's or die, I need new tyres, Hardtop brackets & door bushings make more of a difference than a cage IMO yet I did the bushings and mounts first. I change steering wheels all the time, Magnacore leads are sh*t, Acre pads are amazing, I need more power.
All the photos i've posted are pretty old as the car hasn't moved in a month & I ceebs to take picutres anymore. I have lots of new parts to install and even more parts coming for it & some cool things to post, so please motivate me to update this regularly. Current plans = power and more gears.
If this post seems random to you, I am a pretty random person, yet I also enthuse in being an individual.
If you made it to the end GG. Ty
