Guess what is coming back for a front mount, CAI , more boost and some dyno time!

13 months later and still driving perfectly.

Turns out it can be done on the cheap with the right knowledge and some patient used parts selection :D

Modding cars/bikes/anything is like eating pringles, once you pop you can't stop. A friend and I affectionately refer to it as "chasing the dragon".

That's probably why I'm still sitting on the fence. If only Mazda made a 130/ 140kw n/a 1.8 then I'd be sweet...

They will, it'll probably be 2.0L, and will be called an ND.

As happy as I am that they are finally producing more power, am still disappointed that it has taken this long. A Toyota 4age from 1989 puts out 105kw compared to my 85kw in my na6. Honda k20 is another example.
By the time the Nd is released we will already have a golf r32, which makes me even more hesitant to drop 4k into my na6.

They didn't have emissions standards to meet in 1989

small port 4age 16v made 100kw. Not 105.
Silver top 20v motor made 118kw.
Black top 20v motor made 121kw.

Anyway... Turbo your curremt motor and problem solved.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you were born in the 90s?
Either that or you need Google more than I.

89 close enough. I standard corrected though I did find this https://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads ... pdf/37.pdf. What I meant to say I guess was that the emissions standards weren't as strict and I would assume that it would take a lot more engineering to maintain the same power output whilst meeting stricter emissions requirements. Come on you knew what I meant

Of course.

The original car is still getting around and has recently asked about engineering, its going strong.

if your question is

"will you turbo my nb8b for 2000 bucks?" The answer is not even close, sorry.
