'Sunbeam' - Jelzahars NA8
So a little bit of background on myself and the car, this is actually my second NA the first one met an unfortunate end with an argument with a tree (can guess who won that).
I bought that wreck back and stripped it down to a bare (bent) shell. It had a couple goodies that went in my new NA including:
Torsen 3.9 diff
Auto+ bar
BC BR coilovers
Sparco seat
USDM style parker/flashers
2 1/4" exhaust system
Enkei RPF1
I'm a mechanic and first got into MX5s few years ago when i was still a very underpaid apprentice. Come a long way since then doing all sorts of work in my own time on the NA/NB of a few of my mates.
Onto my current car, a 95 originally chaste white NA8 with 212k on the clock. Picked it up for $5500 in April 2015 in fairly standard condition. Well maintained (much better than the last NA) and very well priced.
Had a couple little mods on it:
AGX adjustables on eibach springs
Off the shelf muffler and hotdog
Stereo system
That stuff quickly found a home on the shelf.
The lowered springs in the car proved to be the most uncomfortable/uncompliant ride and threw in a set of SE bilstiens on mazdaspeed springs. Had my first track day out at Lakeside on that set up rolling on NB8B wheels with street tyres. Great fun, really showed me the potential and weak points of the car.
Next track day was at QR, had a couple friends with me there had an absolute blast, much more forgiving track to really push the car. Had fresh brakes all round went with QFM A1RM and perfromed brilliantly. Also got my hands on some obnoxionsly green buddyclub wheels.
Few months on, got myself a set of MCA X-C with 11/7 spring rates. I couldnt not rave on about these enough, much much better than my previous set of BC coilovers.
Since then have acquired:
a set of 15x8 Enkei RPF1
Carmakecorns Type II cat back exhaust
CES headers with 100cell cat
4.78 torsen rear end
Lightyear carbon fibre hard top
M-1028 style carbon mirrors
GV lip
Nardi Deep Corn
Pod filter
Around January, lent my girlfriend the car and she did me a great favor by rubbing it up nicely against another car -_- right before i planned to paint it. Actually worked out in my favour, sanded the whole car back over a weekend, pulled cracked windscreen out and sent it to get damage repaired and the whole car painted in one go. Drove it out bright AF yellow with a new windscreen and no big ding.
Its currently running on a Adaptronic e420d standalone with a MTX-L wideband on a base map that I've tweaked slightly
On the drawing board is a bit of a turbo conversion, most of which is sitting on my shelf.
Flying Miata turbo kit
Kinugawa t28
RX8 440cc injectors
Mania silicone hose kit
Lightweight flywheel
HD clutch
Yokohama AD08R tyres
I find myself working on everybody elses MX5 and never get time to play with my own.
As she stands today

You forgot about the rad (bent) numberplate!
Keen to see where it all ends up. Race you for first boosted car (that drives)?

Re: 'Sunbeam' - Jelzahars NA8
So a bit of an update
Here's the bits I've been compiling for a while to get my turbo thingo going
Flying Miata turbo kit
Turbo drain fittings/braided line
Xtreme Heavy Duty clutch
Light flywheel
Mazdaspeed engine mounts
Water pump
Injectors 440cc yellow rx8
Mania Rad hoses
Auto+ coolant reroute and clutch line
5 speed (that doesn't crunch third)
Today I started stripping down the car to pull the motor and box out for all her goodies to go in.
Mock fitted the intercooler, found because this is actually an NB kit some bending and hammering of bits was necessary, the same technique will continue to be used till everything fits.
Tomorrow the crane comes out and the real fun begins.

Looking good. Is that the 2560 or the 2554? And what ECU are you going to use?

Re: 'Sunbeam' - Jelzahars NA8
What sort of water pump did you go with and any chance you could post more pics of the actuator bracket and angle of compressor outlet?
I'm just looking for ideas for mine and yours looks similar to what I would need. Thanks!
