Re: General ND chat
Drove with the top up today in mildly windy conditions and it was pretty noisy! It is really quiet top down,so was a bit surprised.
One other observation that i forgot about on Sundays run and would be interested to hear other owners opinions.I had to use the brakes a lot more than in my NA8A.
In some ways was almost rotary like with its lack of engine braking, quite noticeable.
Peter.

Re: General ND chat
I've never noticed that. In fact jumping from my NB into the ND, the first few application of the brakes nearly puts me through the windscreen.
Also I have recently had the 'infotainment' firmware upgrade and Hilary not had a single reboot yet, so that appears to finally be fixed.

Think pcmx5 was talking about engine braking (or lack thereof), not actual braking...

Re: General ND chat
I have a customer of mine who has a 2.0 ND GT. We always enjoy having a poke at each other's cars. Obviously he thinks I've bought the wrong MX5 because I went for the smaller engine. I personally think the 1.5 is a better road car, while the 2.0 is a better track car. He had a 1.5 for the day while his car was getting serviced. He surprisingly admitted that the 2.0 feels flat after driving the 1.5. I think that's the first time I've heard a 2.0 owner compliment a 1.5 owner
Peter I'm glad you think the gearing is good as I've never found it to be an issue as a daily driver. I think changing the final drive ratio would ruin it as a daily driver.

Exactly,thanks !
Randy ,not sure at this stage but think it is a bit high geared although I do agree that it is a lovely road car as is!
Have now got 205/45 x17 Pilot Sports on and very first impressions are of better ride quality despite the Compomotive ML's that are a fair bit heavier than the stock wheels.Thinking of the US specs Eibachs which have great reviews and will give about .8 inch drop.

Re: General ND chat
New question?
I have 17x7 et 35 wheels instead of the standard 16x6.5 et 45 ones.Even with the standard wheels the car gets lots of crap down the side in drizzle or above,Has anyone fitted mudflaps? There are small ones available in factory colours for $ 150 Aus each axle on US sites or MX5Parts has the more traditional(ie like NA ones) in black for $90 Aus each axle .Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

Ahh understand now. I've not noticed any difference in that department.

Peter,
I'm keen to hear thoughts on front mud flaps as well. The ND gets a huge amount of splatter down the sides!
Though as I have the Kurio pack fitted they may not fit.

Re: General ND chat
Town and Country rear muffler set up fitted and sounds great, probably the best sounding MX5 I have ever heard,at criuse OE quiet,,under a power brilliant, but as for NC just a bit flat on the final ,1000 rpm on the overun.. Overall 9,75/10,will be interesting to see the dyno figures next week although with the Goodwin one making about 3 ftlbs and 3 rwhp I would settle for no more power and the beautiful noise with no power increase that this set up gives.
Remember mine is a 1.5 so not sure what the 2.0 ltr would sound like..

Yes, new colour. Extra layer of paint similar to Soul Red. Makes it look liquid. No doubt someone will fix my link. Meanwhile maybe you can copy and paste.
