Yeah, I'm not surprised practice was cancelled. It was bucketing down!

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
For the passenger laps I handed the keys over to Jamie and he went for a few laps, hopefully he enjoyed them... Jamie has been very helpful in getting my times down.

Glad you enjoyed the drive. Despite the imposed speed limit going through the dipper gave you an idea of how it handles and accelerates.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Spent the morning at QR doing General Practice, managed to find almost 4 secs off my previous time around the national, 1:27.80. Also caught up with Trackphotos
Only change to the car was taking a riser out of the rear wing. This was necessitated as the wing was only being held on by 2 bolts, 2 had fallen out! No spare bolts so used the ones from the riser. Can't say if the riser change caused the extra time, or the removing of the passenger seat or more seat time or the AD08's but I'm still happy:)
Looks like the front pads are stuffed so they need to be changed, played around with tyre pressures but apart from that no problems with the car. AD08's at 30 PSI hot are very 'squirmy'.
Also did a view looking at the RL wheel.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Had a quick look at the log files as the fuel warning came on late in each session.
Session 1 - 14 laps (approx. 44 kms)
Started with 26.5 ended with 9.0. 40ltrs/100
at the last few corners (cool down) level fluctuated between 2.7 and 7 ltrs.
Session 2 - 14 laps (approx. 44kms). Was red flagged for about 10 mins so sat idling)
Started with 24.3 ended with 7.2. Used 17.1 ltrs for 44 kms or 39ltrs/100
All up used 100 ltrs for 5 sessions!

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Another sort of plus from the previous session, I'm working the brakes harder. Finally managed to get the temp strips on the front calipers to work. Have some larger brake ducts to install as well. Be interesting to see what the rear calipers have recorded. Plus, thinking of going to W6.5's on the rear as well as the front.

Changing the front pads out on the weekend as well as putting in some spare rotors to see what temp they are getting up to. The T3's are almost worn out so need to decide on what rotor to swap to.
Also tested out my DIY rack for the track. A bit hard to steer when fully loaded so may have to swap out a set of wheels with casters, but then it will not travel over rough ground as well. Improvements planned are a battery box and possible a fold out bench on the side. Fits perfectly onto the Amarok as a bonus.

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
Thanks Dan, it needs a few minor tweaks and is only really suitable for doing a weekend away as it cannot be put on off the car with everything already on it. So have to put it on the car pack around it then arrive at the destination get it on the ground and load it back up. However it saves lots of trips back and forth so is worth the pain.
Need a small crane on the Amarok to make loading easier, however not sure if the other half will indulge me for the crane

Re: The Roadster NA Journey Begins
What have I learnt so far.... Less brake more corner speed.
This is from various times this year going through T2 at QR.
The IQQR 061816R1:10 is the most recent time. This lap was on AD08's whereas the other 2 laps were on FZ201's. It shows that I'm braking less and carrying more speed through the corner. Further the FZ201's did not have the same grip as the AD08's. However, it does show that previously I was braking TOO hard and washing off too much speed before the corner. The most recent (red) line shows that Imaintaned a constant speed through T2.

At turn in, coming off the brakes and maintaining speed. This is what I have not been able to get right in the past. There is some throttle modulation to keep the car at speed through the corner, this could be improved. Previously it shows that I would have been accelerating into the apex, NOT good.

Starting to wind off steering and accelerating out of the corner.
