While I'm not a big fan of Haltechs in general, the E series ECUs were pretty friggin average.

Link make some decent stuff, so should be good. I would recommend however using an adaptronic over link as its plug n play (saving wiring) otherwise if your getting a good deal go for it

Tuesday was a big day where I was up before the Sun and home after it had passed, but overall the day was a success with just minimal scares. The days job was to pull the stock head and camshafts off, clean the block and piston heads, attach the new manifold to the Polish and Ported Head, swap the Injectors over, install the Coolant Re Route, Install the head to the block, install the new HKS 256 Cam Shafts to the Head, New Hydraulic Lifters, ensure everything worked and finally time the engine. Whilst praying for it all to work so I could get it to Godzilla Motorsport to have it dyno tuned.

OK SO, pictures always make a nice story, so here we go...




Has NOTHING to do with what I just said but because I couldnt sleep the night before I decided to install the new clear side repeaters and the Project G indicator/parker lights,
i love them. Gives a cool amber glow throughout the whole unit, nice and retro-ish.
Also scored this cool Gauge Cluster set up which will go on when I get the car back from Godzilla Motorsport

Just the tapet cover off after dropping all the oil and coolant (everything looking nice and juicy)



Here comes the SH!T and Gross part of the day....





Don't know what kind of Carbon Build up or whatever that may be, but all four piston heads had that all over them (in a thick coat too), so we spent a while shaving all that off along with the old remains of the Head Gasket.

Unfortunately we stopped taking pictures at this point as we started to lose daylight, but everything went on alright witch not too much fidling for space, and surprisingly the car kicked over and idled nicely first go, sounds much more lumpier due to the 256 Cams.
Drove home fine, but I was awakened by the smell of fuel all through the house as the Injector seal failed and leaked fuel from the fuel rail everywhere!

That being the only let down, it was a successful day, we had fun and learnt a lot. Massive thanks to Luke Wilcox for the amazing work!
Updates will be posted in a week or two when I get the car back! (sorry for the long post)

It was a good day, definitely took a lot longer than any of us thought!
I am really looking forward to seeing it tuned and running at 100%. Those cams sound tough and it was interesting to run that re-route kit. I've read up on them but never had any direct experience with one.

And the best part was the wife didn't tear me a new one when I finally got home at 8:00...

How did you clean the block & Pistons?

Luke took at it with a sander and then used a file in the grooves of the piston head, we went through about 3 or 4 sanding tips, i think?

Tuner is a bit busy apparently...plus i use Photobucket to upload my pictures and thatbis just one long and tedious process sometimes haha

got the car back, making 113bhp .... but there are a couple things im not happy with, the tuner had left the maf on and taken the stock tps off without wiring up my variable tps on that i provided....yet charged me for it...instead "wired a full sweep tps" no clue what that means really

I'd imagine a full sweep tps is a variable tps. Do you have any pictures?

They wired it so the air reading comes from the maf which i didnt really want, will upload pics tomorrow after i take the car back to talk to them.
